My Blackstone oil analysis UOA

results are in for my latest oil change:
Odo: 77,500
Oil Miles: 9,500
Oil: Toyota 0W-20
Filter: Toyota TRD

My first oil change as owner was at 55k was with Mobile 1 Syn 5W-30 but switched over to Toyota 0W-20 at 60k. Used that again at 68k and this time 77,500. I aim to hit 10k between changes but I get antsy and/or have a pending road trip to push it a little ahead of schedule.

No issues to report. PFA

Blackstone decided on their own to run the TBN on my analysis after I checked no on form and sent a check for analysis w/out TBN and then they just sent me a bill for $10. The bill stated it was verbally approved (not)!!! Guess I'm done with these guys.

I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and a phone call. And I'll bet $50 that they would agree to delete the $10 charge. People make mistakes, and they've probably done just that, and will take responsibility for it.

For those worried about running higher mileages between changes. I have been using Mobil 1 extended protection since 2010 in all my vehicles. FZJ80, GX470, 200, multiple 100s, Lexus LS430, Tundra. Have had all of them checked by Blackstone and all were fine with the 15k change interval. I do use the Mobil 1 Ext Prot filter as well. Some changes have gone beyond 15k. All have been fine. Changing oil more often is unnecessary and antiquated thinking.

I did call and the guy said that the supervisor verbally approved it without calling me my phone number is on the information and then he said well you need to send us the $10 and I said good luck with that hung up on him

Here's mine for my 2017 LC @ it's second oil change (5k mi interval, 10k mi on unit). At the first oil change, I switched over to the TRD Pro oil filters. Copper and silicon levels approaching normal, and iron is lower. Used Toyota 0w20 for second interval, but now switched to Mobil One 0w20 (that's all the dealer had at the time). Next change will be at 15k mi.

Your looking real good check my oil analysis above that’s what yours will look like in another 15,000 miles. My dealer uses Kendall 0W 20 liquid titanium that’s why my titanium numbers are so high but it looks like it’s good anti wear additive and something most of the bigger companies are starting to look at.

Good info. I’m going to try the 10,000 mile Lexes recommended oil change interval after this upcoming 30,000 mile service then I’ll send it in for an oil analysis and compare it against my 5000 mile oil changes and tests I’ve been doing.
