So I got my report back, some things to note:

-This oil was run from about 73,500 to 81,145
-Oil filter used was a FRAM Tough Guard  (I was in a pinch and just bought what walmart had.)
-My oil filler cap had some of that milky sludge caked in it.

I'm not too worried about the fuel %. That can be explained by the frequent short trips not giving enough time for the fuel to boil off. From what Ive gathered, that is normal in an IC engine. The short trips also explain the sludge in the oil filler cap. Oil changed with more of the same oil, but with the TRD filter. Im gonna run it 9k and take another sample to send for analysis.

Here's mine for my 2017 LC @ it's first oil change (5,000 mi). I'm looking forward to seeing the Iron, Copper and Silicon levels drop to normal.

I need to get this done. My oil looks like Guinness after 5k miles, many of which are on dirt.
{In the voice of Homer Simpson}...Mmmmm Guinness....

Actually I've been meaning to get this done as well - just to baseline and check it every so often.

$28 - unless you want "extra stuff" - which I did not.

I used to be a fan of Blackstone until I read that they are not as thorough as other companies. I'm going with someone different for my next oil analysis.

Blackstone sent me like 10 kits for for future samples. When I get oil filter changes at the dealer I always have them catch the sample and give me the old filter.

It’s $28 for the “wear” analysis, or $38 if you want the TBN measured too. The latter tells you how much additive is left in your oil, which can help you determine if you can go longer between oil changes.

As with any of these it helps if you do them somewhat regularly. You won’t know what is a sign of a problem until you have a statistical baseline to measure off.

If you change oil every 5-7k miles you don't need tbn

I agree. I did it the first round because I wanted to know just how much wear I could put on my oil. 4000+ miles of towing on a 6500 mile oil change and Blackstone said to try 8000 next time. I won't bother with a TBN since I do my oil about every 6k

You should be able to do 10k without even thinking about it given that is what Toyota recommends for the 3UR-FE.

My '13's DIC flashes MAINTENANCE REQUIRED at 5k. For those of you going longer than 5k, do you just reset the warning versus stare at it every time the truck starts?

I ordered two Blackstone containers today...

Toyota has the warning go off at 5k because they would like you to visit a dealership every 5k for inspections. There are inspection and other items in between and alongside oil changes in the maintenance schedule from Toyota.

i.e. 10k, 20k, 30k etc... is change oil, rotate tires, and other things.
5k, 15k, 25k, 35k, etc... is rotate tires, other things, and only change oil if "repeated trips under five miles in freezing temps".

Page 39 (38) of the Warranty Manual (2013 linked) for Toyota's list:
https://www.toyota.com/t3Portal/doc...dcruiser/pdf/2013_Toyota_Land_Cruiser_WMG.pdf

But if you do those things yourself / have your own routine - you can just reset the reminder. Half the time my dealer forgets and doesn't reset.

To reset on a 13-15, and possibly other years (check one's manual):
With the vehicle off, you can reset by holding the trip button to the left of the wheel, then turning the ignition on (without starting, don't hold the brake) - continue holding the trip button until the multi-information screen in the gauge cluster indicates reset is complete.

I just had another one done on the Mobil 1 5w-20 Extended Performance (15k mile oil). I ran it 9500 miles with the K&N Filter. It actually looked better than the last one, (but that was M1 5w-20 High Mileage). They said the TBN was still good and to try it to 11,500 next time. But I replaced the EP oil with the latest and greatest "Annual Protection 20,000 mile interval" M1 5w-20 and Mobil 1 EP filter. I really, really hate changing the oil in the 3UR-FE with the canister filter and the skid plates, and I don't trust the techs in the dealership to actually change the filter, so Im gonna let this oil go 15k miles, maybe even 20k! Well, Ill be lucky to let it get to 15k without losing sleep over it. Trying to figure out how to convert this Blackstone PDF to a jpeg so I can attach it here.....

IF you're on Win10, view the pdf file on your system, then use the Snipping Tool to select a rectangular box around the pdf, and save it in .png format. You can then upload it here to your local album and share it in a post (which is what I did).

That is why with the 200 series you always require them to return the old filter and you give them a Blackstone oil sample kit. If I don't get a used oil filter they don't get paid for the oil/ filter change!

Maybe it's antiquated thinking but 20k between oil changes creeps me out.

Porsche recommends a 20k OCI for all its vehicles. Just sayin'
