Hi Fellow Cruiser fans!
Ive been a lurker for a while now and this Forum has so much cool information, I love it. Has helped me a fair bit, being a newbie to Landcruisers and 4WD'ing in General.
Ive always loved cars from a young age, and since having my License have had a love for toyotas (I dont know why). First car being a rare imported EP82 GT Starlet back in 1999, to multiple JZA80 Supras (Dream car in highschool) to MR2's, Altezza , Random runarounds like Coronas, Celicas and Cressidas.
I always loved the look of the Landcuiser 80 and 60 series, but never really had a use for a big 4wd. Once my Supra became more of a Circuit Racer, I decided to sell a Mint MX73 Cressida I had for an 80 series to tow my car to the track. I started off with a very tired 1994 4.5 Petrol 80, with over 500,000kms and was on Gas. I Sold this after a few months because, A. it was a colour I hated (Maroon) and on Gas which has issues.
I trolled carsales, ebay etc hourly (as 80 series are pretty popluar here) when I found a Mint 1 owner 80 in Black which was not a standard colour here. It was a made to order colour and it mateched my 202 Black Supra! I had to have it.
I could not afford the massive prices for a late model Multivalve 80 (People ask for 30K AUD plus for them!) so I had to settle for a Petrol. I still one day want a Diesel and have toyed with a 1HDFTE conversion (from 100 series).
Anways a daily that was bought mainly to tow has turned into another expensive hobby! I have the modding bug and started to fix her up.
My Supra is E-Famously known as "The Gorilla" and competes in things like Time Attack.
Meet Baboon!
A Late 1995 80 Series Petrol GXL Landcruiser
1 Owner who had used it for Towing a Horse Float but owner died, and his wife was selling it.
It had 278,000kms
Manual
It WAS very clean, and was happy with the purchase.
Got it home and had to re-arrange the garage a little for it to fit (Sits in the garage whole Gorilla gets tuned)
It towers over the wifes little Vitz
Engine bay is clean as, no oil leaks or grease etc!!
Already equipped with Hayman Reece Tow Bar
First thing to go was the sheepskins and rear seat covers
After years of the seats been hidden away, all this dead skin was revealed !!
Rear seat covers removed
This is sticking out the back, no idea what it is
