You're truck has seen a lifetime of mods in the last 2 years.... What's after portals.... Jet engine? :D

No portals yet... But nearly finished with the rear leafs...

After portals??? Maybe a new paint job???

Wait, you went from coil to leaf? why? For the portals? I would love to through some portals under my truck, stock suspension, run a 35 or 37 and a 4.7. Thats pretty much my dream, no coils, just simple get r' done kinda build

With leafs the portals would/should bolt on easily. Not many mods necessary. So that is the reason...

much more articulation with the leafs.

maybe as much not the ones hes got, with a hundred leafs in the pack.

plus there are less parts to deal with. and no panhard bar.

Should I remove some leafs??? They are all-pro 5/6", like the ones I have in front.

Much easier with leafs, less parts, less hassle... Been trying to optimize the coil/linked suspension for a while now. Not so happy, the last coils were to stiff and I needed 600pounds of s*** in my trunk to get good articulation. Now I hope to be able to ride it without anything in the back.

No panhard, no nothing... Very happy with that. Simple is best... I have started removing unnecessary parts and lots more to come...

Plan now is mounting my tabor winch inside the trunk, and maybe the diesel tank also. Also a few other small things, like a laptop in the dashboard for navigation purposes.

Very nice 4Runner. And good project-story too.

What your law says about tire size changing? How about lift?

Here in Finland we can raise up tire diameter only 51 mm (2") from the biggest original and width 102 mm (4"). But the track change can be only 30 mm. That makes troubles. Stupid law.

You can lift suspension 77 mm (3"), bodylift 77 mm (3"), but the change of the overall height can be max. 150 mm (6") including tire size change. These are enough, because tire diameter can´t change more than that 2".

Wish we could drive with 38-42" tires like some of you and the islanders.

Well, mine is not street legal over here... I could get the sas approved together with a 2" spring lift. Today it seems impossible to get it approved with larger than 31s... But so far I dont care.... You have to have TUV papers or papers from toyota to get it approved over here...

The width isnt a problem, you get certified rims which are 15x10 with 4" bs.

We`ll see... :)

Okay. I´ve seen some Arctic Trucks Toyotas over there in some pictures, that´s why I thought maybe there is very much different law about these things. I hink those are made as street leagal in Norway, right?

My friend has 35" tires under his 4Runner, with his own permit too. :) That´s how it goes, just change tires smaller before the every year´s car inspection, just for one day.

Arctic trucks have toyotas blessing to rebuild, so they get them approved with up to 37s... So they are street legal, actually we have a 60s wagon with 44s which is street legal over here... But now its hopeless. I hope to be able to get it approved with volvo portal axels. But that will take some time.

Same here, just change tires for the inspection. But we only have those every two years.

Been a while, have done a few things now. Built my allpro in-cab cage, have to paint it before installing, got the allpro rear bumper which I had to shorten, installed my duals today on the allpro triple crossmember and a new ome clutch.

swapping my interior for a Grey one, but the dash i rhd so that will still be red...

swapped some lights for an additional arb locker, but might go for aussies front also. Tired of not getting my arb to unlock... easier to have autos...

Go Aussie, you wont regret it! I drive mine around 50miles a day, if not more and its never been more enjoyable. They have virtually no draw backs!

Got the first drive shaft! Front one, with allpro long slip kit... The rear one is in the mail, hope to get it before the weekend.

Getting started tomorrow on swapping interiors, got my donor truck yesterday. Grey... had the original cd-cassette dual din player also. Might try to install this one too, hope it works! Also since the truck is rhd it has no rear heater so I don`t need so much adjustment to the arm rest case.

Test drove it, feels reel good with the duals. The allpro triple crossmember makes allot of vibrations but thats how it goes when I do not do my homework up front!
