Those jeeps on the last page are freaking awesome!
Was that one 6x6 able to articulate in the middle? Like the back half was trailer?
Whats the big box with the shaved boggers?

Portals kick ass! Go for It!

Some articulation was possible, he was still using the stock springs so not impressive... He had rear-mounted a 350TBI, mounted back-to-front which sounded and went like a racing truck. It was amazing!!!

The big box with the shaved bogger are the small version of the 6x6. Its a Volvo C303 from the swedish army. Stock with portals, which is cool.

I just need to get me 4200usd for the portals... :whoops:

Hey Knix!!! Glad to see you. Has the sun come up for the summer there yet? :flipoff2: Hehehe Great pics!

Hi 2gen! Glad to be back to! The sun came up for about 4 weeks ago, and will be up 24-7 for another 3-4 weeks... Midnight sun... Don`t think you would be able to sleep so much.. :hillbilly:

The number of pix will increase over the next week or two!!! :p

If you download the video, which is linked to in the lapland trophy thread. You will get a video where my truck is represented allot. Only sorry to say that the video is from the easy day, but a few highlights makes it worth it...

You guys have some freakin sweet music, and some INSANE terrain. What is that at 4:08 in the video?

Thats the crazy guys from Finland with that kind of music!

Dont know what kind of truck that is, guess its a custom build from Estonia. I think it might be a RR frame or something like that...

If I wasnt set on visting the Aussie's for a my Wrenchin' certificates you would see me come next Feb. But, free money speaks!

Is it difficult to get parts for so many different vehicles? I suspect its not like you can walk into a parts store and get a replacement axle shaft for the volvo? Or do you have parts stores?

We have part stores, but for the Volvo parts you have to order... They are very common over here, so many people use them. Almost all of the trail guys are using them.

Sounds like supreme portal huntin country then, eh?

I just cant get over the sly appearance of a mud hole, looks like ground, soft, but ground. Drive over it and your engorged in 5ft of mud! Thats just absurd

Yes it is, its an Isuzu D-Max double cab p-u. But for tax reasons over here its only with two seats. You can tell by the green number plates. It costs 80000usd with 2 seats and 124000usd with 5... It has got a 3litre common-rail diesel and an automatic. I like it, it can legally tow 3000kg... Which is more than enough. :)

Yeah, portals are quite easy to find... they are a bit pricey though...

Holy crap. We get the exact same vehicle here (sold as a Holden Colorado) but we can buy three (almost 4) for that much money.

But you have AWESOME paying jobs then, right?
We are not blessed with deisels except for the big ones. Our government doesnt allow us to have them because they do not meet or exceed emissions. But it rules itself on MPG. 36 vs. 23. Big difference there, especially when some of the foriegn countrys have a harshed EPA than we do. Stupid government...

Don`t know about that, I make around 80000usd a year. But taxes are high, about 37% income tax. And on top of that you have 25%vat on everything... And my house costs around 500000usd, and I have a loan on it, which is just under 400000usd. The interest here are about 7% which make 28000usd a year...

So... its expensive here too... :crybaby:

Wow you guys have some high taxes! Thats absurb. 37% and 25%!?

Yes! And it gets worse, we have employment tax payed by the company which is 16%...

But then again.... we have benefits like 100% pay for a year if we get sick (up to 80000usd), we get 66% (of max 80000usd) pay if we are unemployed, hospital care is free, schools are free, from high school we have to buy books but thats it...

What do you do for a living Knix? Just for a better comparison...

I`m a financial adviser, for the moment... Just got notice about my department being closed, so I will have to get a new job now. I have a job offer in another part of Norway. The pay is better, around a 100000usd... But don`t wan`t to move... So I guess I`ll turn it down.. We`ll see:cheers:

Not much happening here... Not finished converting the truck to rear leafs. Been busy doing nothing... :p

Well, must hurry up now. Seems like I have sold my axles and found some volvo portals. So I need to finish what I have started and get ready for some more work. In case I decide to get those, I will install them SUA.

Also I will use the toyota disc-brakes.
