You going to do Hyper Shackles on the front? Ive got them on mine but dont get much flex.lol

I have plenty of flex in the front with just regular shackles. My problem is my rear wheels sit in to far and under flex they rub on the inner body preventing the shackles from doing anything. My problem with the hyper shackles is two fold.

1. They have too much side to side movement. Under flex they allow the frame to shift. WHich if your tires are close allows them to rub.

2. Under heavy braking they unload and cause the rear axle to wrap wildly. They unload going down a steep hill. As Steve how much pucker factor we had when this happened to us at Gulches. Only thing you can do is let off the brake. WHich makes for an interesting ride down. I think once I find a new set of springs for the rear I'll be relacing them with anti inversion shackles and selling the Hypers.

FJ55 rears and longer plate shackles is all you need. After that the only place else to go is a 4-link or 1/4 ellip. JMHO

I have a pair of 1.5" wheel spacers I'll take $50 for.

hey I reccomend while you are inthere, replace the knuckle studs with the upgraded version, get the replacement dust cover, that is more like a washer, and upgrade to the rock rings,, you can find both items on trail-gear.com I am rebuilding my front on my 62 and am waiting for both those,,

if you get rid of the dist cover you have to get new flexible brake lines, I had SS ones made, but search and you can find the napa number for the right ones, I believe they are around 16" long

overall it sounds great

Good suggestion Bob, but I didn't buy those replacements. I just cut the existing dust shield. Used the money saved to buy the rubber hoses from Napa. The long ones were like $15 each.

FYI, Bobby wont warentee his Longfields if you break a hub gear (now your week lilnk) and trash the splines on the hub end of the Birf. Hence needing to get a pair of his Cromo Hub Gears.

Im a big fan of the trail gear stuff. I have the wheel spacers, the brake plate eliminaters and the rock rings. All good heavy duty stuff. luckily the PO had already put the ss brake lines on so I didnt have to track those down. I think he paid high dollar and got them from SOR. Not sure the exact size but they handle the droop with 4" springs and Hyper shackles. I also got some of the rock lights from TG. I was suprised that for the price they ended up being Hella's.

Aisins are usualy regarded as being stronger but I managed to twist the hub end splines of a non chromo Longfield with a pair of Warn hubs.
