Now that its all ripped open it looks like I could try to replace this center section -- maybe a part and some tips from CruiserDan? Hey, while its open, does anyone need any intel on what's behind this area of the dash?
fj803fe 80s are NOT easy to break into. They get in from teh front doors? I have had to break into mine. But it takes a good levering bar from the slider windows in rear
-uhuru- said:Are you kidding me??? I can brake into an 80 with rear sliding windows in less than a minute man... LITERALY ... I do it all the time ´cause my dumb ass keeps leaving the keys inside ... all you have to do is pop the plastic cap over the locking clip ... wedge it with flathead and give it a good wack ... you´d be surprised at how hard you can hit that window without chipping or shattering it ... I´ve wacked that thing HARD when im all pissed off for locking myself out and haven´t broken it..... and a 15 dollar clip sure beats calling a locksmith while you sit and watch you´re gas tank burn away ... hell I even keep spare clip nowdays...
breaking into 80´s through the rear sliding windows is common in my country ... so people usually put those key locks you see like at jewlery store displays .that keeps the glass from sliding ... another solution is to place a tiny aluminum block on the windows tracking/railing and then screw it in place ...
I don´t know if making myself clear so I´ll tryb to get pics!

P.S:Also if you concern those tinted are illegal/ cops may pull you over because of it, well roll down your window. But once you hit highway/freeway roll 'em all da way up.
