Was home sick today and finally had some daylight hours to snap some HQ photos of my new (to me) fj55.

No name for it yet. I've done a bit of work here and there getting her road ready.

I really want to fix/replace the roof as you can see TONS of nasty cancer up there. Everything else is pretty solid. A little rust on the bottom of the front fenders.

Don't grind or do anything on the roof unless you remove the head liner and insulation. I set one on fire that way and burned it to the ground

that's fantastic advice ;)

I don't have a ton of metal work experience, if anything I need to find a shop to handle that part for me.

That kind of comment should be in caps. It looks so nonchalant typed out like that.

Nice looking 55. I know a lot of you are used to it but I cringe when I see piggy pics in the snow. I'm in San Diego so I only see a weeks worth of rain per year.

Page 25 of the fj55 registry. I want to post more pics but I haven't upgraded my account yet.

This is the Megadoomer, aka zombie apocalypse response vehicle.

I like the hood and front bumper. The matte finish is really slick too.

I picked up my piggy because I moved to Truckee (north lake tahoe) last year and I had a Challenger; which is about the dumbest car you can own in the truckee/tahoe area. After sliding down a road sideways I decided its time to switch things up.

fj55s OWN the snow...more of an arctic hippopotamus than a pig. how do you keep from melting into the seat driving home from work in august?:p

I think your pig is the one that used to look down on all other swinekind from atop its perch of portal axles...the photochops of it dressed as a single cab flatbed were the inspiration for my porkchop...I found myself staying home "sick" more often after I joined the club...:flipoff2: NICE truck

I have an aftermarket A/C unit that blows really cold. The only problem I have is that PO drilled a lot of holes in the floor and heat from the engine and exhaust come up. I almost have them plugged up, getting ready for a durabak DIY on the floor and im going to weld some heat shields on the exhaust.

Are you thinking that this was Ridge Runner's pig that was on portals?
He was up in Cheyenne, haven't heard much from hiim in a while...

2011 R/T. I love the old ones too, but when I got it I wanted to treat myself... Then my dumbass decided to move from Sacramento to the snow.

I know the fellow I got my pig from was from Scott's Valley, very nice guy.
