This is a 1992 HZJ77 I saw while visiting @SteveJackson at Land Cruiser Direct. It may or may not have a little drool on it...

Well this just arrived...

I had a whole review of my customer experience. Lets just say Gobi's customer service is non-existent but I'm too damn excited to blast them. A week short of 5 months I have been waiting for this thing.

Removed the factory roof rack/crossbars and rear spoiler (anyone want these?). All the nutserts were intact (looks like someone applied silicone in the past) with very little rust and the feet mostly only rubbed through to the primer. Eventually I'd like to fill these but will save that until I figure out what I'm doing for paint. Until then I just sealed them off with stainless and rubber washers. I kind of like the ribs and it gave me something to protect the top while I got the new rack on.

I still need to get the ladder and front fairing installed.

Finally got around to changing my belts on a warm afternoon. Took about 2 hours removing the battery box and guard, wrestling a stuck bolt, and cleaning up a little. The directions and pictures here were helpful. Disregard the myth you can get this done in 25 minutes and just go ahead and save your sanity by removing the battery box and guard. Then I packed up the rig for a trip to the family farm. With the roof rack fairing installed it cuts down significantly on wind noise.

Did a little fishing...

and did a few creek crossings to see the Spring calves.

A couple of late cranking nights, resulted in getting the wheels blacked out, installing new brake pads, filling the birfs and some nice lubing. Pro tip, lube goes on better at night.

I also dropped the soccer mom running boards!

Do I spy a semi-float rear end and drum brakes???

Great progress on the truck, BTW!

Thanks, yup semi float and drums! I forget the cutoff and year they changed.
I thought it was just the FJ80 (91-92) and maybe a small percentage of the 93 model years that got semi-float rear ends. Yours is a '94, correct?

Correct, 1994. All I could find when I researched this before was from SLEE's newbie guide on 1993-1994 models the "rear axle changes to full floater with disk brakes when equipped with ABS." I do not have ABS.

Loaded with 50 dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts...

Perspective makes it look like my rear is sagging under the weight of all the fluffy goodness. I thought it was funny. Now, how do I get rid of the doughnut smell? Or Do I? :hmm:

Did you consider keeping her de-flared? I'm a fan of de-flared, I think yours looks great without flares. I think I will do it depending on paint underneath..

I wouldn't mind deflaring and like the look. I may do it if and when I repaint (I'm also thinking about bedlining it) and would fill the holes. I don't wheel hard enough to make removal necessary or have to constantly repair. Next biggies are sliders, suspension and tires.

Def sliders. I have Sleep step sliders and could not recommend more
