Ok was able to confirm ground and 12+ volt on the switch. Going to spend time tonight making the harness (George ECU to the sub tank switch and leave a little extra for the rest)

Ok so my other package arrived and finally got to switching my old aux tank sender unit to the needed and correct petrol / gasoline one [ 83320-69215 ] with 3 pins.

I did spray the screws with some liquid wrench and the old screws came off without a struggle

Time to drop the new one in. I must add that the 5 screws does have a preference on how they line up

Also came the other cooler box, I got this other box because it was a package deal and I needed the lines, not the box. Well I guess a spare doesn't hurt and if my brown one isn't working ... I have the grey for parts in case the brown fails but I must say the grey one was pulled and working but the brown is in far far better condition View attachment 1043938View attachment 1043939View attachment 1043940
How much was the cooler? Where did you get it from?

@burbuja96 I got the grey one from @Akella with all the lines and electronics to basically install it oem into a USA truck. Problem is the Canada diesel trucks are right hand drive and our USA trucks are left hand drive. The issue is the one of the firewall piping needs to be extended as well as some other customization. If your interested in the grey one, keep in touch with me since I am working on something I think you (and the rest of the mud 80 series members) will find easy to use on your truck (doesn't require you to tie into existing ac lines, it will work off 12+ volt alone but keep the stock oem look)

Great! , please let me know I have been looking to get this done but the prices of the ones I've found were way too much. Also, what kind of parts would you need from a LHD ? I could try to sort it out from South America.

Thanks in advance

Are you asking about the center cooler box ? Or the aux tank ?

Verifying each part before I assemble it (just in case someone found themselves needing to test before installing a used 25 year old part)

So the over head console has it's age showing. All that time in the Australian outback has had it separate at some of the seams. Here is a before picture.

Picked this up at HD

And clamped it up with some small c clamps and used a small tile to keep it uniform and not leave clamp marks.

It says it takes 8 hours to dry so I'll check back in the morning.

Now the proper female connector for the subtank gauge assembly (6 pin) is no longer made

I was able to carefully separate the pins from the connector housing . Hoping toyota made a updated replacement that can accept the pins still

FYI: touching the red/yellow on negative and the blue on a 9+ volt battery will trigger the gauge to move

Just in case someone needs to verify

I tried checking the bulbs to see if they needed to be replaced but no dice. Next on the list is bulbs

Wow a month has gone by and still nothing done.

That saying is true: you want something done and done right, do it yourself. Money is also the reason why it's been crawling again.

When I order parts, I try to order a ton at a time to justify the shipping cost and not piece it out. The last 2 orders have been parts for my daily driver my 2008 Camry hybrid.

Ok, Finally got the right female connector built that attaches to aux tank sender unit 83320-69215.

Someone posted on mud that connector 90980-11016 could fit and that was a lie. Wasted $6. If anyone needs it, let me know.

This 3 wire pigtail cost about $23.00 with the mud discount . Why did I do this? If my aux tank sender failed, I can source another and plug it up without having to splice and solder. That is why I didn't cheap out and cut it off and use some other molex. This is water tight fitting and plug and play.

Part number for housing is:

90980-11245
Splices are:
82998-12440 (3x)

So where is this attaching up to? You ask?

Another harness I am building that will plug into the existing open female end found on the rear chassis

ImageUploadedByIH8MUD Forum1430937516.500035.jpg

Yes my spare tire support is there.

Ok so from what I read is that this 3 pin plug can carry the signal I need. I really don't feel like running new wiring when I can use pre existing pigtails.

So I'm going to have to pause for awhile and invest in some proper tools and hopefully try the next phase which is mock up and installing . I need to make that Rivnut tool and practice how to expand the nut.

and? Is there a happy end?

The first time I have seen Toyota cooler nuce very ni

i am thinking of converting the unit ti a small cooler using peltier diode keeping the bear cold and baby food warm

sadly no- but I did get married LOL. both coolers and everything for my trucks was put on hold. Been toying with either selling them and buying a built truck or pushing on building the truck(s) I see fit. I probably put 200 miles on each of them. White locked truck has a seized brake caliper which was a nightmare as many of the calipers I was getting in the mail just did not fit right. Napa was able to resolve this problem. Tires are all pushing their limits due to age. I start/idle/fresh fuel them monthly. Shift all the gears and drive them locally.

Can someone point me in the right direction on who to talk to to purchase a OEM gasket set for the front axles please? Thanks yall.
