IF you decide to go with anything besides a carb, go with the affordable fuel injection kit. I've had mine for about 4 years, fountainhead has one, and FJ60cam has had one.....NO ISSUES AT ALL with these kits.

Alright I've decided to go with affordable fuel injection. Also I'm going to break the head off of the block to have it ported and polished and put a different cam in. While it's off would it be a good idea to deck the block for a little bit more compression and power?

Nope. Why are you changing cams BTW? It'll never be a race car. These things were built the way they are so they will last a lifetime. Don't mess with what works. :-)

If by chance you still want to do a cam and have yet to purchase one I have a brand new RV cam kit from Man-A-Fre for sale for $225. It comes with the cam, lifters and springs.

So it's been a while since I've touched my FJ. I bought a 1974 Datsun 260Z, decided it wasn't me and now I'm selling it to get started back on the FJ project stronger than ever. I'm going to continue "restoring/reassembling" only what I will need of my FJ40 for the FJ45 conversion while saving for one of the Aqualu box/truck beds. I plan on taking my time and making my dream vehicle which I have pictured above and below. A Crew Cab, Long bed FJ45. I have everything I need minus the bed. Also I plan on making a trailer using another identical bed after the FJ45 conversion is completed. Both the FJ45's bed and the trailer will have canopy's.

Thanks! I'm going to need a lot of support, I'm going to have a lot of questions and need a lot of odd and end pieces throughout the project. My FJ40 body tub seems to be the same size as the FJ45 crew cab body tub so I might save the $5000 that the Aqualu tub costs and take my time and make my own.

Once my 1974 Datsun 260Z sales I'm going to save that money towards buying the Aqualu FJ45 crew Cab body tub and then I will have everything I need. I'll be finishing my 2F in the meantime.

Correction I still need an FJ45 bed like the ones pictured above. So if anyone can point me in the right direction of one it would be much appreciated.

That's what I was afraid of. Looks like I'll be saving up for that from Aqualu also. It'll be worth the money in the end. I'm planning on spending my money on this instead of buying a new vehicle.

I'm seriously considering leaving my FJ40 cab as it is so I can still seat 7 people and extending the frame to accommodate the bed. 4 doors looks good but for my purposes a "super extended cab" would suit me better. Also I will still be able to use the GOBI roof rack.

This is what I've decided on. Finally found a picture closer to what I want. The only difference is ill have the bed separated from the body.
