I've been hanging out here on the 80's forum for about 6 months now and figured it's time to start my own build thread.

Purchased in 09/2013

Current configuration: ARB Front Bumper, OME's, PFRAN Led's inside and out, stock gearing with 163K Miles now, LandTank Seat Extender on Drivers Side only, short LabRak, and 33" Michelin LTX AT2 tires on stock blacked wheels.

Upon picking up my cruiser in Orlando, I realized within 15 minutes that there was no adequate cup holder. I looked at the options and none seemed to be right, so my first mod was my own design, a new cup holder that works properly. Since then, I've sold quite a few of these on MUD, hopefully if you have an 80, you have one. If not, PM me.

In January I installed Alpine INE-W940 Receiver, I picked up the Alpine Front and Rear cameras too. It's an awesome head unit and I've been very happy with it.

The last thing that I've added was today, I picked up 2 of the Dual Port USB outlets and installed them in the back of the center console. I grabbed power from the power that supplies the Alpine, and after blowing a fuse, got it to work correctly. Now the kids can charge all of their items at the same time and the cables won't be run every which way over the center console.

Current mods in the works

1. 7-Pin and CDL switch - Ordered parts from Beno and am awaiting their arrival. Installation upon receipt I hope.

2. Install the grab handle that is missing on the top of the door frame on the drivers side. Ordered from Beno and ready to install it upon arrival.

Currently designing and fabricating some items that I'll be installing soon, I will keep you posted.

So here are some pictures of my 80.

Nice. I like the GoPro cam at the front ... ;)

I love the GoPro, still undecided where it works best, center on front of the hood, or up near the sunroof. I need to figure out how to power it continuously but still keep the enclosure. With new 128GB card, I could record for 2 days but the battery only lasts 2 hours. Hopefully the next iteration of the GoPro will address that issue, along with perhaps a better lens.

Which model have you ? I don't know if it's a good idea to keep it continuously, I think you gonna make damages on the battery. It's better to have a set of 2 batteries and make them roll. If you've got the GoPro 3 Black Edition, you can pause your videos on demand with the remote and avoid to waste time in making movie.

I have the GoPro3 Silver edition. Good point, buying 2nd battery would help. I'd like to power it without battery, just a wired camera in reality. I tried using the bluetooth but found that if I'm on a new / un-used trail, I get out, clear brush, etc. and if I let the bluetooth run, the battery is dead to quickly. I may find a mod to make permanent DC input to it and skip the battery.

Maybe you can use an external battery pack connected with USB serial cable.

I'd be worried about moisture getting into it.

Would be awesome to have a water proof, battery less housing. The battery is the only reason I don't bother to mount a gopro on my trips.

I think with the usb MOD, I can drill a small hole in the back of the waterproof housing, then seal it after the USB cable is connected. That should resolve the water issues.

I was up in Georgia a week ago and did a lot of river crossings, and have driven hours in the rain with it with no issue.

You are correct, it is actually the black addition. Thanks for pointing that out.

The Michellin 33" LTX AT2 tires are awesome. A little heavy, but for a 10 ply tire, I'm really happy with them. They handle great on the road, aren't noisy, and are great offroad as well. I have also noticed that the water spray affect that you get in puddles is not nearly as bad with these vs. other tires I've had.

They're on the expensive side, but I don't think there is a better tire for me in the US.
