I am having an issue with my 89 fj62. Not sure why all 3 started at
basically the same time.
I had changed my tranny fluid in the auto and headed to our club
meeting last saturday with the family. I had also adjusted the cable
for the tranny b/f we left and it took me awhile to find the sweet spot.
Drove around 20 miles fine and then after I went through a few stop
lights and then over to the McD's drive through for the kids, my temp
guage starts to rise, still seems to be doing OK but the guage is
getting up there. (I replaced my fan clutch a few months back with a
used unit b/c it was heating up when sitting still. That seemed to help
with that issue.) At about the same time my break light and battery
light come on. And the tranny temp light as well. Well about the time I
get a few lights down the temp guage really starts to rise and its
running a little rough.
I get to the meeting and we stay there a few hours. I start driving and
notice that the lights are still on as I pull in to fill up. I pull
over a block past the gas station and check the tranny fluid and its
low. I thought I had enough in there as it seemed to measure right for
cold when I filled it up, but I wasnt checkign it while running. I
added what I had and drove home. It drove fine and didnt really run hot
either.
Now as soon as I crank it up the trans temp, battery, and brake light
are on. I dont know whats up and any advice woudl be great. I have a
lock right in the rear and it makes the clunking noise at some
stops/take offs, so I never thought it could be the breaks.
Any help would be appreciated!
