Also consider that the farther down the line you go, the cooler / denser the air gets. I don't know just how much but I feel that it's enough to matter when you're dealing with 12' of exhaust.

This is an old post, but i am wondering if volcano cruiser reach any conclusion, I am running 3" pipe with aeroturbine 3030XL and i can't support the noise, in fact i am considering to going back to the stock exhaust and muffler system, but before that, i would like to know if there is any other option to reduce the exhaust noise keeping the 3".
I already spent nights reading MUD but the quiet's criteria change too much from person to person, I don't want to drive the school bus but also i know that more performance it will be different than stock exhaust.
any comments, please?
thanks
I'm hating my Aeroturbine 3030XL - I find it to be too quiet.
Are you sure it's a XL with the resonator, mine is pretty damn quiet
Stock exhaust sucks haha
Custom turbo elbow, 3" aluminized all the way back, no muffler. Sounds great and I can have conversations inside the truck with the windows down no problem.
