stock radiator?

Youre a F*CKING ARTIST my friend!!!
Thats not jsut an engine swap, its a Picasso...
In fact, Id rather look at that than a Picasso.
Its intriguing that you paid such attention to the blue accent details.
Now Mrzero cant drive it!

Cant wait to hear the performance appraisal!

Thanks a bunch guys... As for the fan I am leaving it in place until I can run it long enough to check the fan controller and cooling system.

Shin... that is the stock radiator. I haven't had any problems running it that way as long as you can get air across them..

Tonight I will be closing up the interior and some of the undercarrage and then off she goes for pipes. So I will have some time to clean my garage...Hopefully get ready for another one...:D I tell you it is an addiction. Trying to make the next better than the previous. My wife will beat me. Will post up the interior work tonight.

Oh Mrzero....I hope that atleast made your week

After the worst Memorial Day weekend getaway (baby cutting THREE teeth at once...), this latest update has made my day\week!!

Yeah, trying to to get too carried away with the blue....but I do think blue plug wires are next.....

Last update till it comes back from the Exhaust shop

OK this will be the last update till she comes back from the Exhaust shop... The throttle is hooked up and using the trick from previous builds use the Lokar cable and a $3.00 pack from the HELP section at AutoZone # 75450 and you get the one clip you need to hook up the cable without modifying the pedal... Also here is the finished cable and the P.S cooler installed.

Incase you were wondering...

Yes the transfer case has Blue accents on it....

Also MrZero... I left you a voice mail that I hope made the weekend all worth it. Also you need to change your signature line to read 5.3L Vortec with H55 and a whole lot of Blue :bounce:

I took the radiator and had it pressure tested, (I made that mistake once) the staining was from the old hose. But it is holding water and you can't really see the staining. So far so good she is at the muffler shop now so all I can do is wait at this point. And Thanks nice to hear that people are watching the progress and appreciate it.

WOW.... very nice work....
I havent made it down to Downey yet.
Im still not mobile.. hope to be so by next week.....
Then I'll drop the tranny and adapters to the shop and hope for the best ah !!
Is the power Steering cooler a must ??
Or did yah just put one on cause you had one laying around ??

Thats going to be one bling bling FJ60 eh !!

I install it on all of them it will prolong the life of your P.S pump and it is a nice fit in the front. It is better to have it than not. Did yours come with it? If it did put it on you just need to modify the mounting bracket on the cooler. Easy takes 10 minutes to mount... Can't wait to see you get started on yours. Thanks for the prop's...So have you gotten any ideas on Bling yet?:bounce:

where you getting the P/S cooler, off a GM pickup?

very nice setup... I'm interested in how the radiator performs with just the electric fans.....let us know. How are you controlling the fans? I know some of the new GM pickups can control the fans through the "PCM".

I"m gettign ready to buy the kit from advance adapters for my 86, I have a 99 GM Vortec 350 ready to install, and I need to get a 5-speed and a wiring harness. I planed on using the painless harness.

Very clean looking install....I like that. I want to replicate something along those lines for my truck. Got to get off the ole @ss and get started.

Just a couple of questions. Basically the engine has its own harness for power / ECM sensors. THe actual interface with the truck is through the starter and also wth the alternator. How is this particualr setup configured along those lines?

Hey Elbert hadn't heard from you in awhile...The electric fans are controlled by the ECU. I used a FIS harness and had them wire in an additional fan connection with relay. (You may want to check them out since you can customize the harness branch and acc. for ease of location.) Basically I just hook up the 12V supply to it. The ECU does the rest. As for the tie in of the harness to the truck you really only have about 5 wires to hook up to supply the Vortec with power and ignition. 12V crank, 12V ignition, 12V constant, Fuel pump, Alt. lead, and the A/C ON REQUEST. When you run your harness both old and new put new sleeving on it and run it through the fenders. Makes for a clean fender. I get the cooler from the donor vehicle when I get the engine normally they throw it in. Can't wait to see your thread and the progress.

Update

Well after being near death sick I am going to pick up the cruiser from the muffler shop. Mark @ AA muffer did an awesome job again. So I will post the pics of the exhaust and new cross member. That will leave me a few small items to tie up and do the driveline modification.:bounce:

More of the exhaust work and a pic of the Vortec family. And she drives and sounds sweet. Just tieing up the loose ends and she is ready for MrZero.
