The weekend is here!!!

O.K guys here's the progress and a few pic's I haven't posted one of which is a very important note for those going to do a 5 speed swap...The 5 gear oiler and plugging the extra bolt hole...This is the firewall cleaned up and getting ready for some heat shield, The paint again is high temp and makes for a good clean surface for the heat shield.

VORTEC inside!!

Ok here it is mounted and yes it sits back a bit but I have atleast an inch from the firewall and will still be able to mount up the tranny and shifter without a lot of problems...Had we used a Marks we may or may not have had to move anything but Mr. Zero would have had to spend a lot more for a little less headache. Also note the brake lines and heater lines have been moved as have the fuel lines..The starter is a mini powertorque starter for multi fit applications and the #1 header pipe will be modified at the exhaust shop to clear the steering knuckle. Sorry I forgot to snap a picture of the AA mount installed but once I mark the location I drill a hole and bolt it to the frame and once it goes to the muffler shop Mark welds it in for me. So for now this is where I am at..Tomorrow I will start putting the front clip back together and get the harness going. After that I hope to have it going to the muffler shop....Sleep well Mr. Zero:beer:

Thanks, It does have a nice ring doesn't it? So when are you getting off the couch? so to speak. Love that avatar

I probably wont start getting agressive on my swap till later this summer / fall!
Gotta sell my bike before I can even think about layin down more cash on my rig!
As I mentioned...the SOA drained my savings down to an uncomfortable level!
Unless the deal of a lifetime on a motor and tranny pops up!
Research is free (for the time being)!

Tonights Schedule

Tonight I will wrap up the harness portion, And get the fuel pump and fuel lines in. Hope the radiator is ready today. I would get that finished also. Then I will be off to the muffler shop:bounce:

Downey Adapter Question

You already made mention of the fact that the downey bellhousing is shorter than the Mark's adapter kit. Did you leave the tranny in the original location, or did you push the engine forward some to get additional clearance between the firewall and the back of engine? If you did move the tranny forward, make sure to show a picture of where the shifter comes up as I am curious.

Will do on the photo but the tranny has moved 2 1/2 inches forward. That is the only way to get the clearance on the engine and the shifter without huge mods.

Fuel lines

OK Guy's here's a couple pic's of how we are running the fuel lines The Return still needs to slip up some more but I figured I needed to get a shot before I got to far along...-AN fittings and twist lok hose. The other oic is the final resting place of the tranny not to far out of position. I had to relieve the tranny cover to allow for the forward position but the boot covers it and it will clear first and fifth gear shift without hitting the dash.

Yes I was slacking on the posting

OK the harness is done and the radiator back and in. Made a mount for the ECU,fuse block, and diagnostic port. I will need to modify it once the air cleaner gets here but for now it should do. She cranks so it's all good. Waiting for a few parts to include the Ford Taurus Electric fan. UGGH I KNOW FORD!!!!

Hey Texican Sorry I didn't get over to the meet had to work late; I have the starter and exhaust pipe if you want to give me a call and we can get together on a time and place. Maybe I can make a road trip up that way. The fan I am waiting for was an EBAY purchase and it is due here on Wed. But I do need another one for PAXILDOG. How much you want fer it?

Nice work... really dig the blue accents...
what type of heat shield did yah use?..
Im trying to see if I can use a rad that has both hose spouts on the same side of the rad (PS) any idea where I can get a good quality not too expensive one...

You work fast !!

Laters....

If you go through Downey or AA the will have to make it. They typically don't have them on the shelf. Alternative is to order a stock fit and have the ports moved. I just dont like the look after it's been done, And the heat shield we got through Jegs. It was like 60.00. But they are out there. Hope you can get back after yours soon. So what's the status on the leg? And thanks. It doesn't seem like I was moving very fast but I guess it is going along good.

Ok guys, lets get this straight...the fan is from a Ford CONTOUR.....so that makes a big difference....and it's way less lame....right??
