Has anyone used one of these before? I like the idea of having a sanity check against the old dash gauge.

wonder how accurate it is if the antiboil level isn't right up high

Seems like a bit of a gimmick. If you're going to have to open the hood to check temps, I would just get an IR temp gun and shoot various things under the hood (engine off, to prevent air flow from affecting the readings) and do it that way. You can shoot the head, and upper and lower radiator hoses, and get a good idea of how the cooling system is performing.

The pressure reading is probably more useful at that location than the temp, if it is accurate at all. But even that doesn't tell you any more than that your cooling system has no leaks and the cap is still functioning as intended.

I was interested when I first saw one, and started reading reviews on amazon... A lot of people seemed pretty convinced there's weren't working.

And, considering how inexpensive a reliable, easy to trust cap is... I decided not to spend that much on a cap that apparently isn't...

Well, that was a complete fail. 2 short drives and less than 5 miles before it blew. This cap is absolute garbage.
