Hello,

I'm going to be moving back to the Philly area (went to HS there) from British Columbia in a couple weeks.

I'm looking to hook up with your club once we get settled in.

I have an '81 FJ40 (ROTW) and a '97 LX450. I wheel both of them, but the 40 gets wheeled more because of the pinstriping and tree damage from the narrow trails here. Our club forum is down in the international section: Vancouver Island Cruisers. It sucks to leave a place where we only had to drive 20 minutes to hit the bush, but I'm looking at it as an opportunity to learn to wheel East Coast style.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting you guys in the coming months. I've browsed your club site here and found you do most of your meetings in H-burg, do you normally do your meetings on the weekends?

How many of you live in the Montgomery County Area?

Welcome! Most of the meetings during wheeling season (March thru February) are normally held at Rausch Creek after wheeling for the day. We combine the monthly trail rides and the meetings. Better turn out that way. In the off season, we used to meet at a place in Harrisburg, but we haven't done that in awhile.
I read your ROTW thread. You've done a great job on The Tick. I hope my '66 turns out even 1/2 as good as yours.
We have a great bunch of guys and girls here in ALCA. By reading about some of your exploits, I'm sure you'll fit right in.
If you need anything once you get back to the Keystone State, let us know. I'm located on the other side of the state (Somerset), but I've been known to do a few road trips to help out now and then.

Most of the other members are in Central and Eastern PA, so I'm sure someone local to you will chime in here soon

Again, Welcome! Look forward to wheeling with ya'.

Thanks! I like the idea of combining the meeting with some wheeling, plus Rausch Creek seems somewhat centrally located. It'll be cool to hook-up with more Cruiser Heads, for sure.

Thanks for the compliments on the FJ40. It looks like you have got a good start and are moving in the right direction on yours. If those first pages of your build are any indication, it is gonna be REALLY nice. I like to see others who try their best to save the tub. Yours was in much worse shape to begin with. Kudo's to you Sir!
The GF's family lives in Pittsburgh so we will be heading your way from time to time as well. I'm always up for a challenge or to just hand wrenches.

Hey there,

Most of the club folks live within 2 hours of Rausch, so that is the place we meet. Oh yeah, you can also wheel there, which is more attractive than talking about wheeling while sitting somewhere on our hands :D

The club is pretty informal but has a good group of core guys and gals. Welcome:popcorn:

Wow, that's a great 40! So, where's Arthur? I have a ton of episodes on VHS. Sweet. I may have to tap your experience when it comes time for OBA and hot water in my 80... I'll probably follow your timeline of years and years . . .

Welcome back to Philly ! I am down in Southern Chester County :hillbilly: Don't know much about Montco :meh: For that matter...I don't know much about cruisers either...but everytime I turn around there seems to be more of them than there were before  The ALCA is full of decent peeps...especially now that Jeff is moving back to KY :flipoff2: and excluding me of course ...again welcome back

A little late but I'm in Bucks county about 1/2 hour from Montgomery County. I'm in Buckingham.
Where abouts in Montgomery County are you moving to?

Kevin

Well, we're here... been here for a month or so now. We just bought a house in Southampton (Bucks county north of Philly) and should be in by mid-November.
We wanted to make the Oct run at Rausch Creek, but finding a place to work on the Cruiser trumped wheeling.
Anyone planning any snow-runs this winter?
I'm really looking forward to meeting you all and doing some wheeling as soon as we're settled in.

Cheers-

What kind of work does the cruiser need? I have a shop here in Buckingham and your welcome to use it for repairs as long as I can get my cruiser back in for the night. :)

Kevin

Thanks for the offer! The cruiser doesn't need any work per se, right now, it will need a track bar, but that can wait until I get my shop up and running at the new compound.
I really meant we were too busy trying to find a house to get away for a wheeling trip.
We got a place in Southampton (right down 2nd St. Pike from you) so we'll definately have to hook up once we get settled in.

Cheers-
Stump
