@1911 Is there anything between the jack and the basket as an insulator? Or just slide the jack on the bolts and tighten it down?

Nope - just slide the jack on the bolts and tighten it down with big wing nuts and flat washers. I do use a rubber isolater to hold the handle upright, and put a chair-leg cap on the top of the handle (to keep it from whistling on the highway, and rain out of it).

It is more like an ornament on a Christmas tree

It does amuse me to see rigs that carry their full expedition kit all the time, as some kind of fashion statement I guess.

I have room on my rear basket for the hi-lift.. but I am going to build a mount for the passenger side hinge. Less weight on the carrier, which equals less rear sag!!
