There is a similar thread in both the 100 and 200 Classifieds Sections, makes sense here too. These trucks are changing hands at a rapid rate these days, having consolidated live market data is a nice thing for both buyers and sellers.

If you have recently bought or sold an 80 series and are comfortable sharing the details, post it here.

Thinking about selling mine! Am I crazy? so much work has went into this truck but with the new house and the need for a garage for the wife. I know I will regret it but there is always another one out there. PNW market is pretty crazy rigs definitely sell for more and faster than other regions.

Don't sell, what would selling get you besides some cash? Do you think you'll get much more than you put into it? If so, is it worth it?

Valid points. It’s hard to come by a big chunk of cash to build a garage so it may be worth it. I will make Money if I don’t factor in my time invested. Decisions decisions. Also for me I really like working on cruisers so it may be worth it just to start fresh again. I have a fully rebuilt 4.5 that I could keep and maybe find a rig with a blown motor. Thanks for the input!

There's a lot of goodness in the pics you posted including the one of your rig of course! You have a sweet rig but I understand the desire to get fistfuls of cash and to start over.

Man you can have a purple scooter also if you want! I don’t have to be the only one with a sweet ride! Thanks again for the input

Hi all, I’m in the PNW / Seattle looking for an 80 series. If you are considering parting ways with yours please let me know. Will take excellent care of her.

OK my own promotion aside — (aside from BAT which only has one truck located in CT atm)….what are some other reputable channels to find a well taken care of truck? I’m hoping this forum since MUD is the premier LC community.

I searched EVERYWHERE. Good rigs can be be found anywhere. I found 2 on Craigslist, one on eBay, and one on Autotrader. Interestingly enough, none here.

Drive around local neighborhoods and look for them sitting in driveways. You can always knock on the door or leave a note when you see one around town.

2 Nice white 97 and a 94 80s in the SF Bay Area. Both a bit up there in prices IMHO. The 97 has been posted for about 2 weeks and you can probably work with the seller and the 1994 is nice, but with crack pipe pricing at $45K.

My advice... Check these local on craigslist
Ask for proof of maintenance
Let torfab do a ppi

Yes that one is mine.
For Sale: 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80 This 80 series was born and raised in California and is an excellent specimen with zero rust. Here is a list of details of the Land Cruiser and recent additions making this the ultimate over lander. It has just under 244k miles, which is an average of 10K a year.
4.88 gears
ARB Compressor
Front and Rear ARB Lockers
SLEE Rear bumper
Wizard Cooling Aluminum radiator
King shocks with adjustable reservoir
Dobinson springs
Double Cardan Drive shaft
Ironman front bumper
Ironman spot lights
Switch Pros
Ironman upper and lower control arms
Ironman Pan hard rods
Metal Tech Sliders
Quad head lights
Warn Winch
CB radio and antenna
Snorkle and much more...
All services complete including Knuckles and diffs Will add video link here of engine bay
The Land Cruiser was stock it's entire life, until the last owner who added about $24k in the above upgrades
So this is a completely overland built FZJ, that has seen no action yet, except for minimal dirt trails.
Great opportunity to get a 80 series that is ready to tackle Moab or Rubicon right out of the box!

do you have a for sale post up?

Last time gas was this expensive an 80 series couldn't be given away.

Obviously the current situation is different in a lot of ways, and most people don't buy them as DDs, but could the public sour at all on the 80 series in the coming months as their inefficiency becomes harder to ignore?

I wonder if there could be at least a slight turndown forthcoming.. not necessarily a bad thing for those of us looking to pick up a cheap one.

I don't think anyone paying 50K for a 90's suv cares what gas costs lol.
