Not Triple Locked, also a Collectors Edition not 40th. It’s in Sage PearlLockers?
Unless it has been repainted, it’s a 40th, not a CE. Either way, if it’s in that condition, mechanically sound, has documentation etc, today’s market will tell you to scoop it up; it’s a dealThoughts on a ‘97 Collectors Edition (Sage Pearl, not Triple Locked) with 260k for $21k…? Thing has been in the south it’s life, meticulously maintained, had a interior refresh, and the exterior is good (8ish/10)
I have the exact same rig , 186k miles , already baselined , zero leaks or issues all PM done and tastefully modified and I’m asking 25k? Maybe I should bump it up to 35k to fit in with these outrageous pricesThoughts on a ‘97 Collectors Edition (Sage Pearl, not Triple Locked) with 260k for $21k…? Why would you sell it if it’s all baselined and ready to go? Anyway might as well shoot for the moon, nowadays you never know.I have the exact same rig , 186k miles , already baselined , zero leaks or issues all PM done and tastefully modified and I’m asking 25k? Because I like diesel powerWhy would you sell it if it’s all baselined and ready to go? Anyway might as well shoot for the moon, nowadays you never know.
HJ81 is the way to go.Because I like diesel powerjust took the 80 up wolf creek pass and don’t enjoy going 45mph at 3800 RPM. Granted with armor my cruiser weighs about 6300LBS.
Exactly , the trouble is finding one at a decent price..looks like I should bump my 80 up to 35k based on these outrageous prices .who knows maybe I’ll get itHJ81 is the way to go.
I have both FZJ80 and HDJ81 with 1HD-FT 24 valve... The Diesel is a freight train, great power.
Going up passes at 70mph, vs same pass at 50mph with FZJ... struggling...
If it’s a 97 why not turbo the 1fz instead? It’ll probably have more power than even a tuned 1hd-t. You just maybe won’t get the ultra low end grunt of the diesel.Because I like diesel powerjust took the 80 up wolf creek pass and don’t enjoy going 45mph at 3800 RPM. not willing to wait years for a turbo kit I guess . At that point rather Cummins swap.If it’s a 97 why not turbo the 1fz instead? It’ll probably have more power than even a tuned 1hd-t. You just maybe won’t get the ultra low end grunt of the diesel.
PNW prices will be high, I would imagine. Lots of well monied people living in that region.Great thread guys.
I wonder if location has much impact on prices?
I am in Vancouver Canada but close to Seattle WA and thinking of selling my near mint 95 80 series.
I just don't use it enough. I will put on the road this spring and see how attached I am to it.
I am wondering if the Pac north west prices are similar to other prices discussed here.
Hey guys - Specs on my 1995 FJZ-80:
3X locked
well maintained (birfs, PHH, fluids, belts, ect). Head gasket not done (not needed)
Good paint & interior (clean), new leather front seats
everything works including remote antenna
2 sets tires (OEM/LTX and OEM steel with MTRs)
OME lift
Hanna sliders, Slee skid plate
Miles: 157K miles
runs and drives great. It's been my baby...
Any thoughts on what it should sell for ?
I am in no hurry....
location Pac North West.

Sure does look like a creampuff. I wouldn't dump a low mile 3FE though. They're very durable motors. Although high teens sounds like an awful lot I say- Go for it!Need some guidance on price. Found an immaculate 2 owner 1991 FJ80 with 135k miles in Portland, Oregon. It is 100% stock with the exception of an ARB front bumper and K02’s. Center locker obviously with my least favorite motor. However the interior, exterior and all mechanics are like it just rolled off the factory line.
Am I crazy to get this for high teens? Thinking of doing a 1HD-T swap w h55

I'd say go for it if you can afford it. It'd go for more than that on an auction website. If you want a diesel I'd just import one from Europe or Japan if you don't mind RHD.Need some guidance on price. Found an immaculate 2 owner 1991 FJ80 with 135k miles in Portland, Oregon.
