=== HOW I FEEL ABOUT GETTING MY LX570 ===
There have been a few days since... where I feel I bought at the wrong time, the wrong price (In the midst of 2021-22 Used Car Insanity). "Better $ if I waited", etc...
All the rest of the days... I love it, working out better than I hoped it would, and don't care how, or when, or how much I got it for.
=== BACK STORY ===
I had a 2005 4Runner Limited 4WD that finally had to be "Put to Pasture"... RIP (bought it new... 17 years, 300K miles, engine & trans still problem free)
Needed a replacement...
Shocked to discover new car replacement not a financially wise move in OCT'22 (at least for the cars I wanted to get).
Honed in on Used Car options... After looking into all the wrong choices first, finally realized 100/200 Series only real option that met my personal needs.
focused on... 100 Series hopefully < $20K
I did come close to purchasing a couple 100 Series (2002-05) I inspected, each had 1-2 Concerning issues (i.e. radiator) + a dozen minor items due to age and use.
None of which was concern to purchase. But....
I considered how I had to "care and nurture" my 4 Runner the last few years, plus 1 out-of-town breakdown, and wanted a break from that for at least a year or two if possible, so decided to spend a little more now and maybe buy 50-75K of low maintenance use out of a "less elderly" used vehicle.
=== THE PURCHASE ===
10/24/2022 2013 LX570 (Gold) 130K Miles (Sacramento, CA Market)
Purchase Price: 33K + Tax + Lic
Fully Stock OEM, no mods.
10 Yr Old car, lived in Southern California only, Clean Carfax, Detailed Lexus Dealer Service History (Oil every 5-6K except 4 times in 6-8k, + all Reg Maint.)
My 2 Hour self-inspection (outside/inside/undercarriage) at the dealership showed no issues, other than a few minor rubs/scratches inside and out, proving it left the garage from time to time over last 10 years.
I assessed it as having been Well-Maintained, No-Rust underneath, and a Pavement-Only existence till then.
The one "wish I had it" item missing was the Dynamic Cruise Control, just has the standard cruise control.
=== 3 MONTH UPDATE ===
Every week seemed like Christmas, as I discovered feature after feature I didn't know that I had in the LX. Discovering I had "Remote Start" was the best!
Took me weeks to get through reading the Owner's Manual(s), yeah... I like to read them [skipping boring sections OK

] , but I pace myself over 5-6 weeks.
I put 6K miles on the LX570 since purchase ( 3 months ago ).
I have had NO SUPRISES or DISSAPPOINTMENTS mechanically, everything works... every button, knob, feature does what it should.
also had Lexus Tech give it the once over as well, no oil/gasket leaks, etc
I restrained myself from making any improvements till a "Proving Period" was passed.
As diligent as I could be as a buyer, I know I'm the least experienced one at the table in a Used Car transaction.
I could have unknowingly made a bad purchase, so I felt test period warranted.
OK... I did upgrade to LED interior lights, and some floor mats
I've done several day trips with 2 teenagers, consider the LX "teenager approved". Especially after setting up Nintendo Switch to play on 2nd Row Display screens.
I did about ten "1-night" weekend car camping trips, sleeping in the back with 2nd & 3rd row seats removed.
OMG... it's a cavern compared to the 4Runner, never slept so comfortable in a vehicle.
Happened to be a "Flood" year in California this year... well... she got her knickers wet a few times up to the door jams (I think it was her first time), stuck in mud once, but got herself out (bad tires the cause, need that upgraded soon)
Biggest dislikes? I guess the climate control... would prefer knobs for temperature & fan speed. Phone Navigation better than Lexus Nav.
Accepted Realities? FUEL COST... Before I bought I knew this fact, decided if I bought it, to just accept "How Much Fuel Costs".
BTW... of the 6K miles so far... 80% has been mostly flat highway driving...
on a repeated 2-3 hour highway route (@ 75 MPH mostly, some 60MPH parts), I've seen 16/17 MPG if wind slight against, 18/19 MPG with slight downwind (miles/gal calculation).
