Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

Modified 2020 HE: listed locally for the last month at $120k. Failed to meet reserve today on BaT (bid to $82K, everyone blames the snorkel) and now relisted locally for $105K:

What is to blame then? It can’t pull more than $82k on an auction site dedicated to selling vehicles at outrageous prices but yet the seller still believes it’s worth $20k more than that?

Totally. As people are saying it seems like the market is slowing down. It’s definitely not 2021-22 anymore

F/R Eaton Lockers if I'm not mistaken too

10/24/2022 2013 LX570 130K Miles (Sacramento, CA Market)
Purchase Price: $33K + Tax + Lic

=== HOW I FEEL ABOUT GETTING MY LX570 ===
There have been a few days since... where I feel I bought at the wrong time, the wrong price (In the midst of 2021-22 Used Car Insanity). "Better $ if I waited", etc...
All the rest of the days... I love it, working out better than I hoped it would, and don't care how, or when, or how much I got it for.

=== BACK STORY ===
I had a 2005 4Runner Limited 4WD that finally had to be "Put to Pasture"... RIP (bought it new... 17 years, 300K miles, engine & trans still problem free)
Needed a replacement...
Shocked to discover new car replacement not a financially wise move in OCT'22 (at least for the cars I wanted to get).
Honed in on Used Car options... After looking into all the wrong choices first, finally realized 100/200 Series only real option that met my personal needs.
focused on... 100 Series hopefully < $20K
I did come close to purchasing a couple 100 Series (2002-05) I inspected, each had 1-2 Concerning issues (i.e. radiator) + a dozen minor items due to age and use.
None of which was concern to purchase. But....
I considered how I had to "care and nurture" my 4 Runner the last few years, plus 1 out-of-town breakdown, and wanted a break from that for at least a year or two if possible, so decided to spend a little more now and maybe buy 50-75K of low maintenance use out of a "less elderly" used vehicle.

=== THE PURCHASE ===
10/24/2022 2013 LX570 (Gold) 130K Miles (Sacramento, CA Market)
Purchase Price: 33K + Tax + Lic
Fully Stock OEM, no mods.
10 Yr Old car, lived in Southern California only, Clean Carfax, Detailed Lexus Dealer Service History (Oil every 5-6K except 4 times in 6-8k, + all Reg Maint.)
My 2 Hour self-inspection (outside/inside/undercarriage) at the dealership showed no issues, other than a few minor rubs/scratches inside and out, proving it left the garage from time to time over last 10 years.
I assessed it as having been Well-Maintained, No-Rust underneath, and a Pavement-Only existence till then.
The one "wish I had it" item missing was the Dynamic Cruise Control, just has the standard cruise control.

=== 3 MONTH UPDATE ===
Every week seemed like Christmas, as I discovered feature after feature I didn't know that I had in the LX. Discovering I had "Remote Start" was the best!
Took me weeks to get through reading the Owner's Manual(s), yeah... I like to read them [skipping boring sections OK :) ] , but I pace myself over 5-6 weeks.
I put 6K miles on the LX570 since purchase ( 3 months ago ).
I have had NO SUPRISES or DISSAPPOINTMENTS mechanically, everything works... every button, knob, feature does what it should.
also had Lexus Tech give it the once over as well, no oil/gasket leaks, etc
I restrained myself from making any improvements till a "Proving Period" was passed.
As diligent as I could be as a buyer, I know I'm the least experienced one at the table in a Used Car transaction.
I could have unknowingly made a bad purchase, so I felt test period warranted.
OK... I did upgrade to LED interior lights, and some floor mats :)
I've done several day trips with 2 teenagers, consider the LX "teenager approved". Especially after setting up Nintendo Switch to play on 2nd Row Display screens.
I did about ten "1-night" weekend car camping trips, sleeping in the back with 2nd & 3rd row seats removed.
OMG... it's a cavern compared to the 4Runner, never slept so comfortable in a vehicle.
Happened to be a "Flood" year in California this year... well... she got her knickers wet a few times up to the door jams (I think it was her first time), stuck in mud once, but got herself out (bad tires the cause, need that upgraded soon)
Biggest dislikes? I guess the climate control... would prefer knobs for temperature & fan speed. Phone Navigation better than Lexus Nav.
Accepted Realities? FUEL COST... Before I bought I knew this fact, decided if I bought it, to just accept "How Much Fuel Costs".
BTW... of the 6K miles so far... 80% has been mostly flat highway driving...
on a repeated 2-3 hour highway route (@ 75 MPH mostly, some 60MPH parts), I've seen 16/17 MPG if wind slight against, 18/19 MPG with slight downwind (miles/gal calculation).
Good story. I was/am in the same boat. My 4runner never died, so I spent 3 years shopping for the right 200. I do want to know what actually happened to the 4runner though.
I bought mine 1 week after yours. 5 years older, 10k miles fewer and 6k less. The service history was flawless, even early on some oil changes 30k, 60k,90k,120k all done.
I think part of the bubble of 2021 was beat up 200s selling for more than they are worth. A well maintained example is hard to find, but when you do they are worth the price.

First post. Been lurking for a few weeks after deciding we need a LC200 to replace aging T4R. Set on 18-21. Strong preference for Terra interior. Hoping for an unmodified truck in excellent condition and clean Carfax/history. Flexible on miles but generally thinking 30-60k. Looking to pay $75k give or take.

Anyway, posting because a local (2 miles away) opportunity has come up. 2021 truck, non-HE, black on black, under 3k miles. Condition is basically new. Owned by the proverbial little old lady.

What would be fair to pay?

And do I want it? It is a beautiful truck but definitely not our preferred color combo. Wife is concerned about it being super hot in summer. Given that we would "settle" for what I first described, if I can make the finances work does it make sense to jump on the local truck anyway due to miles & condition?

Thanks

Hard to really know. I would not pay a premium for a low mile LC. Unlike everything else out there, they just don't age. 3k vs 20k vs 50k. If all properly maintained, they will all look about the same, except for some exterior scuffs from life. I wouldn't buy this 3k LC because the ask price will be likely over retail and it isn't the color combo you want. If you're spending 70k+, get what you want.

If you're concerned with heat, any LC you get can be tinted with infrared rated film. Most states will also tint the windshield too (minimal tint grade). I noticed this cut down on heat IMMENSELY.

Last March (2022) I traded in a 2020 TRD Pro 4Runner with 35K miles for a 2008 Land Cruiser with 57K miles (listed at $38K) at a dealership here in New England. The '08 was traded in the night prior and I drove thirty miles through a blizzard the next morning to be first in line (pictures weren't even up yet). Wife still can't understand the trade, but she drives a Telluride so it would be pointless to explain (and she really hated the 4Runner).

Since I picked up the '08, I've transitioned to working fully remotely and the only driving I do is to the bus stop and hockey practices, with a couple round trips to the Cape. She current sits at 67K miles, but I don't anticipate driving her this spring/summer (I picked up an FJ40 a while back) and it feels like a waste to garage her for half the year.

Would be curious as to folks' opinions on private party sale value. As far as details go, I'm the second owner, no accidents, good maintenance history (carfax attached) and the only mods were new tires (Falken) and rims (TRD Rock Warriors), though I did keep the original rims/tires. Interior is in excellent condition and I've kept up the original owner's practice of a NH oil undercoating done each fall to prevent any rust (undercarriage is clean). If value is materially lower than what I purchased her for ($38K), I'll probably garage her and passing her on to my sons; if she's held her value or might do better on BaT, I'll probably part with next month. Thoughts?

Update on the truck I asked about in post #3251: its sold. In less than 24hrs.

For purchase price reference, it was $98k. Black/black non-HE 2021, under 3k miles.
