Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

There was a white one clean 2008 LX570 in SoCal craigslist for $21.5k

180,000 miles but looked clean and had all service records. Sold now
Good input.. I saw one local to me at 170K miles, same setup asking 27K. I should have used it to persuade the seller. Is the link on CL down?

Do you guys think 200 series prices are going to continue to come down? I'd like to pick up a '13-'15 LX with under 90k this year. I'm hoping prices come down a bit and I can get one closer to $34k. That combo seems to be going for more like $40k right now.

No crystal ball but I'd like to think yes they will come down due to a few factors. First being the overall market correction of the entire auto industry. Second being slow movement from increased interest rates. Third being the new LC we are getting in North America.

There is 15 of them for sale, that fit what you're looking for on the two main car websites after a quick search. Ive been told by a buddy that worked in used car sales, that dealership usually try to make about 7k $ on a used car. Better profits than new ones . I've always found the car I want, research what the trade in value is, then offer 1-2k $ over trade in value, using "good" condition. I think you could find what you want right now. Probably could save a couple grand by waiting a few months but wouldn't your rather have the car now?

Haven't seen anything saying an actual cruiser is coming to the states. Just a bunch of PR stuff saying, "the Land Cruiser nameplate may come back". Expect it would only be in a hybrid drive train similar to the Sequoia.

Did you pick one up?

I picked one up right at the tail end of production. April build as I recall. It's still has all the plastic and window stickers inside :D

There is a rare Amazon Green color 2008 LC for sale in West TX for $28k, 202k miles. I have been wanting this color forever, but the asking price seems too high for me.

I've been watching the same year LXs for a while now. I've not seen one I want (white, no rust, well cared for, 50-75k miles) go for less than $45k until very recently. If you aren't as picky as I am, $40k seems possible now.

IMO, the general car market has been contracting for a few months now at wholesale. I don't think the retail prices have digested that fully yet, and I don't see the slide stopping any time soon. So, no harm in letting this play out a while longer. I'd bet another $5k falls out this year.

There is a balancing act though. Nobody is mothballing these as a collector car, so every year there are fewer nice cars left.

the problem is, you never know when you've hit the bottom until it's come and gone.

I don't think there are fifteen that are down at $34-35k with less than 75-80k miles in the '13-'15 year range. At least I am not seeing them. There are some at about $38k, and if that's where they stay, I'll pull the trigger.

I have a camper, truck and third gen Montero to sell before the wife will give her stamp on the LX, so I probably have a bit of time whether I like it or not.

Tesla prices dropped 10-20% yesterday. Not directly relevant to 200 series but will impact the industry.
I do think this shows just how much new car production and availability is affecting the used market.

I'm in the same boat in that I'm picky and am willing to wait. It's good to know that $45k is a new thing. I'd love to see that come down $5k over the next few months.
