Let’s try this again, prior thread deleted, I assume they want to keep it clean, there was no explation given.

If you have sold a 100 series recently and want to share what you paid with details on truck this will be helpful for potential buyers currently looking.

This thread can be helpful for buyers looking to understand the market and different factors that come into play on pricing.

Please stay on topic!

I recently sold 2004 LX with 176k for 12,500. Truck was 9/10 on condition with full service records. Southern Vehicle no rust.

Here's the rust pic along the top of the window... unsure what causes this. I haven't seen this on any other SoCal trucks.
My current 100 is a 98 LX that was only in Utah a couple years and has already started doing this; my truck and the wife's car as well. My assumption is rock chips followed by exposure to salt (but I know i'm wrong).

I try to buy all my cars out of CA/AZ, so I understand paying a premium for rust-free vehicles, but nothing about that one says anything over $15k. This will ruffle some 100 owner's feathers, but they're just not worth what some of these people are asking. The other world's I live in are diesel trucks and classic cars, and the same thing is happening over there too. Cars and trucks are sitting for MONTHS because everybody thinks they've got something. I also don't believe in paying an absurd premium for a "low mileage" 100, to me low mileage on these is kind of a red flag. I'd rather pay $9k for something with 250k and some character. I love the 100 series, and think it's a phenomenal platform in certain configurations, but there are plenty out there to choose from and if you're patient you will find the right one.

Nothing else between a pre-purchase inspection in July 2022 and 2006 in Toyota’s records.

Vehicle history shows it listed at $50k on 2/13/23 with the same photos. I guess they thought $50k wasn’t enough.

VIN: JTEHT05J762089361

Wow lots of money for under 35000km land cruiser in usa 😂
I'm wondering if I'm able to guide the owner or sell this 1998 LX under 60000km will be worth it 🤤

It has clothe seats not leather 😃

Wanted to get everyone's opinion here before I head out to look at one I think I might actually pull the trigger on. It's a two owner, white, 2003 LC with 241k mi. Interior is in very good condition (probably just needs a shampoo). The exterior appears blemish free from the photos and is all original no accidents per carfax with exception of the hood. The hood was replaced due to a shop accident. The replacement hood is a cheap aftermarket one which oddly does not have holes cut for the washer nozzles. All of the rest of the panels have original VIN tags.

It has spent it's entire life in Orange County, CA, so no underside rust at all.

Aside from that it is 100% stock. In the last 30k mi it has had
  • TB/WP
  • Radiator/Hoses/Tees
  • Brakes (Front/Rear)
  • Tires (date coded 2019)
  • New CV Axle (Front Rigjht)
  • Valve Cover Gaskets
  • Front Diff Bushing/Rear stop washer

Current issues are
  • speakers need replacing, all blown out
  • sunroof gasket came off preventing it from closing all the way. motor/tracks are good
  • The hood issue missing the washer nozzles

Right now we're at about $13,500. I think that's fair given the fact that it's white (which I like) and it's an LC (which I like) and it's an 03 so it has the 5 speed. All of the maintenance minus one were done at Toyota dealerships too, infact the TB/WP was done at a Toyota dealer so I know that wasn't cheap. Seller says $2300 or so.

Thoughts?

how many miles?

lol s***, updated the post but also posting here. 241k.
doesn't seem like a bad deal, but I'd use the replacement hood as a bargaining component if you haven't already. How much have you gone back and forth on price so far? also I know with 80 series sunroof you can't get a new gasket, you have to replace the glass entirely so I would look into that.

we haven't, my goal is to chip off another $1000. I will check out the glass. I am unsure which gasket specifically I need to look. I honestly haven't touched any of the sunroofs in any of the LCs I've looked at because I am afraid of them getting stuck. He said the gasket is intact just separated so perhaps just some adhesive would do it.

sealing glass can be tricky. But yeah I would also search FB, CL, and Offerup and compare prices in the area. But I would look up the prices of all the replacement parts and add that into the total cost to see if it's worth it. Some others can chime in but sounds like it's a good price.

yeah it's definitely competitive for SoCal. I am positive the higher priced trucks aren't selling but I saw one last month that needed some deferred maintenance and he wanted $23k and wasn't willing to budge a penny. I offered him $15k given it needed a new windshield, rust repair around the window frame, steering rack, and a timing belt.

Yeah anything listed for more than like 10k sits for a long time now. the rush to buy LCs has slowed down considerably.

Isn't there still a shortage of new vehicles, overall high prices and dealership market adjustment fees to continue throughout this year? Did prices come down because there are more LC 100 and LX 470 offered for sale now? 🤔

Shortage isn’t as bad, people aren’t looking to buy new cars either with the economy taking a turn. I think a lot of people who really wanted these over the past few years have bough them too. With Covid being somewhat over too people aren’t camping as much as well. just some thoughts, but I look a lot at my local market (SoCal) have definitely seen a downtrend in 80/100 series princes lately.

I have a bead on a 90k mile 2000 lx470. Seller wants $21k and will not budge. Has torn upper ball joints, bad master window switch, and mirror switch. Body is mint and interior is mint.

What do y’all think? Is this too much for the current market?

Where is it located? Under 100k miles is pretty hard to find

Assuming no rust, not bad price. These are getting harder and harder to find with low miles (not that it really matters if serviced) But, finding one in good cosmetic condition is a win. I bought mine in 2015 w100k, really well cared for and I’ve kept it that way for almost 8 years and 130k. Good luck.

Can I get some opinionson this rust? I live in Florida so not something I am as familiar with.
It has 160k and seller is asking 16k. Interior is very clean.

Frame looks serviceable. Look very closely at the body, especially on the rocker panels and the area behind the rear wheels.
As for the price, please share the year, mileage, recent maintenance etc. Otherwise no way to tell if it is a decent deal.
