Let’s try this again, prior thread deleted, I assume they want to keep it clean, there was no explation given.

If you have sold a 100 series recently and want to share what you paid with details on truck this will be helpful for potential buyers currently looking.

This thread can be helpful for buyers looking to understand the market and different factors that come into play on pricing.

Please stay on topic!

I recently sold 2004 LX with 176k for 12,500. Truck was 9/10 on condition with full service records. Southern Vehicle no rust.

New to the forum and hoping to become a first time LC owner very soon. After lots of research and shopping for 80's series trucks I started looking at 98-99 100 series trucks as well and was hoping to get a sanity check on prices and consensus from the forum. I found what appears to be a very clean 98 with 245kmiles for $12k that also has a clean carfax report

. The timing belt was replaced by Toyota about 25k miles ago and once more about 90k miles before that. I spoke with the owner and he claims there's no rust and that it doesn't burn or consume oil or have any leaks. I have attached the photos I have for it but its 3hrs away from me so I plan to check it out this weekend and wanted to do some more research. Any feedback the forum can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Seems a little high, but a '98-'99 in good condition with less that 250k miles and no rust is becoming rarer everyday. I think if you like the color and condition, the service records are solid, and the truck puts a smile on your face, it's at minimum not an unreasonable price to pay.

Put a (refundable) deposit down on a 2000 LC, 145k miles, very minimal rust, seems like overall good condition pending 3rd party inspection, but I checked it out while it was pouring so didn't get a chance to dig around too much. They're asking $16k, does that seem kinda reasonable? I know it's not the best deal ever, but it seems like it's not a rip off for Salt Lake City.
Prices are so all over the place. I think it just comes down to whether you are satisfied with the condition, history, records, color, etc. If everything checks out, and it's what you wanted to begin with, then I'd say go for it.

For reference last February I bought a 2000 with 168K for $8,000 but it needed new tires, shocks and probably a timing belt so if all that gets done I'm looking at $10,5000 and there is zero service history. Nothing on CarFax. This one looks really good with a great service history. If it doesn't need anything major that looks like a good deal. Was there an issue with the front diff on the 1998? I'm not sure. But that's a great looking truck. Check the shocks and tires for wear. Mine were cupping.

going to look at this today, what’s everyone think about it

2000 lx 470 black/grey interior 130k miles, fully armored, clean title no rust. 18.5k California all its life

Just purchased a 2006 LC with 85K miles on it in Liberty, MO for $31K. The car is in fantastic condition with a mint condition interior and good exterior. There are a couple imperfections on the body but nothing really notable. I drove it home 8+ hours and it drives like new, arguably better than our '14 Sequoia on the interstate. Very excited to have this in our family for decades to come.

No affiliation: Rusty/frame rotted 2000 LX going to sell on BaT for way too much money in two days. Super clean up top, but someone will have the joy of wrestling every nut and bolt on this thing. Hope the buyer can afford for that to be a well-paid mechanic...

Hey all. Grateful for the community here. A couple questions I’ve pondered:
What percentage/value do you think maintenance/baseline history adds, when good?
Mods certainly aren’t a dollar-for-dollar value add, but they count for something over stock if done well, don’t they?

I’ll jump in on the appraisal game as well - thoughts on good price for the below? I’m not ready to sell, but certainly watching the market as you all are.

2005 LC
183k miles
I’ve done all maintenance/repairs at Toyota with OEM parts except where noted below.

Since I bought it in 2019, I’ve done the following “baselining” measures and mods, most/many from reading this thread.

-Toyota Water pump and timing belt at 156k. Prior done at 90k.
-Toyota alternator.
-Brakes/Rotors
-Toyota radiator, hoses, T’s, thermostat
-New SPC Adjustable UCA’s.
-555 lower ball joints
-Slee Diff drop.
-OME 2865 rear coils and cranked oem t bars. (Kit with shocks from cruiser outfitters)
-Alignment done at Toyota
-Driver door gaskets replaced
-275-70-18 continental tires
-Ceramic tint all around.
-New OEM steering wheel in 2019
-Rebuilt factory JBL door speakers in front. Sounds great.
-Added BT-45 adapter.
-Weather tech floor mats plus Lloyd cargo mat.
-Oil changes and maintenance done at local Toyota dealership with Mobil 1 only.

If I were trying to sell one of these I'd be trying to do it before summer is in full swing. If you wait until winter AND when the automobile production pipeline is back to pumping out new cars and used car dealers have inventory from trade-ins again, it won't be good for your bottom line. After almost buying the nth piece of crap with a rusted out frame yesterday (before spending 90 seconds underneath it to inspect the frame rails), I'm basically out of the game until that latter time. Lots of fools out there paying $15k for junk right now though like whoever bid on the above.

I'm also wondering what's gonna happen to the "overland" or whatever market once Ford floods the USA with 190,000 Broncos. Food for thought.

Do you think there’s a price drop over 200k miles, all other things being equal?
Yes, despite these things going well beyond that, 200k is probably the new 100k in most folk's minds about end of life for the average vehicle.

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and also to the LC/LX game. I do not know pricing at all, my neighbor has an '02 LX 470 which I love so I am looking for similar, he put me onto the ih8mud game. I have found one that is in excellent shape. Here are the details, I am curious if this price is too high? My apologies if this post is in the wrong place or gives everyone notifications, I do not mean to be a hassle on here. Please let me know if so. Thank you all.

-2002 Lexus LX 470
-Mileage 144,935
-Being sold from a small certified dealer
-Price has been set at $16,380
-Exterior and Interior are in excellent shape, looks really sharp
-Mechanically I would think is good, I do not have those details yet
-I've noticed a lot of posts about rust. The under is in good shape, just a little/minimal rust, has been Virginia-owned forever

If the rest of the interior is in as good of condition as it looks, there’s okay maintenance history (you can plug the vehicle VIN in on the Lexus owner’s website or CarFax), and you like the color combo, I think it’s on the high side of reasonable but not unreasonable.

Put a deposit today on a 03, one owner LC with 300k miles. Zero rust and all service history performed at same Toyota dealership. Just had timing belt and radiator replaced and new Michelins put on. Provided the PPI checks out, purchase price is $15k. Certainly not close to a steal but a one owner with impeccable service/maintenance history, and no accidents - that's something I'm willing to overpay for. I wouldn't pay over premium for a vehicle with 300k miles, without it. Plus, it's Thundercloud and that's the color I've been holding out for. Now, I just need to locate a reliable PPI mechanic...

No pictures, but trying to come up with a reasonable price for a 2001 lx470 with 120k miles. Two owner California car it's entire life. Has never gone offroad, though has been driven in the snow. Interior and exterior are very clean, I'd say both are 9/10 if not 10/10.
