I found mine today: replacing the rear washer hose. I tried to attach the new hose to the old one so I could just pull it through and be done, but of course it came undone and I ended up pulling the old hose out while the new one just fell on the floor.

Whoever thought it was a good idea to route the hose like that needs to be shot in the head, brought back, and shot again.

Hands down the body mounts. Dont know why, but they first had to be busted loose, and then it was war getting them to tighten (esp second to last rear bolts). We're still not talking about that furious day. Would rather rebuild the front again than change the mounts.

Spook, if you loose the hose your fxxxed. I wrapped mine in tie wire and then removed it. Air line tubing for fish tanks is a great replacement hose. Worst job has to be PS pump replacement that one bolt is about 1mm too long for the hole and just gives you GRIEF. Next worst is heater core replacement.

Dynosoar:zila:

Haven't done that much work on the 60 yet but by far the worst has been replacing the rear frame inner C channels. Have to remove the spare tire, gas tank, and then much dirty work getting the rusty channels out. Cutting out the rivets is a real PITA no matter how you do it. Recently did a post on this job with pictures.

either the rear bumper mounts on the frame or pulling the head without taking off the hood and no cherry picker.

Total roof replacement.....

I dunno....It's all fun when you get to enjoy your favorite hobby right? Spending time in the garage, bonding with buddies....

Lets see, was the worst job, replacing the rusted away rear shock mounting/support brace? Or was it stripping the entire interior out to fix all the floor pans? No maybe it was the head gasket with the hood on & no picker (as mentioned before). Could it have been getting the old suspension off to install the new stuff? So many choices.....

Rebuilding the t-case on my rig in a parking lot behind the fraternity house when it was 30*, snowing and almost dark, with stock suspension. Took a long while to thaw out after that one.

In the thick of a battle with gaping rust holes right now. Rear.....um.....everything on the rear of the body. trying to get it done on my christmas break to drive back to school 1400km in the new year. learning that im not a big fan of body work but its starting to come together so i feel a little better about it.

. But I have steering pump/idler pulley/desmog coming up....
EASY, you will enjoy it..........mine was when i did my clutch...I would not go into gear once i was done. Pulled it back out twice, then i replaced the master and slave. same problem...Then i checked the soft line, $20 fix............................:bang::hillbilly::wrench:Did my desmog simultaneously, what a nightmare, it's the bee's knee's now:banana:

worst for me was pulling the gas tank to replace the fuel pump which you can't get to throught the access hole in the floor,I loosened all the straps but the tank would not clear the frame so I ended up cutting a hole in the rear floor to get the fuel pump out.

Replacing the metal high pressure power steering hard line that runs between the body and frame on my girlfriend's 62...uhhfff

So far my drivers side rear spring pin. The others came out with a little effort. The last was the worst of course and required the use of my complete hammer collection, sawzall and grinder/cutoff wheel! Rock on:flipoff2:

Head gasket so far... I think it would be pretty easy to do again now that I've done it once...

Painting the frame, with the body on, with two coats of rust bullet and one of chassis black ... Momma always said someday I'd find my calling.

probably the heater core. yikes.

Hmmmm...I think mine was probabaly pulling the entire drivetrain out of the vehicle, the fuel tank, grinding and torching all the spring hangers off, installing a complete Chevy drivetain (TBI350/700r4) !4 bolt axle in the rear, 63" springs in the rear, Toy 48" springs in the front, sag steering etc etc etc.), just little stuff like that. I can see where a fluid hose would be difficult:hillbilly:.

My least favorite was dealing with fuel pump issues. Removed the tank and replaced but had wiring issues. Ended up cutting a hole in the floor to access it because I was so pissed.
