I have the dark version (think single tone in the outer 40th color the last 2 images) in my second row which are a perfect enough match for my Sheel Mann fronts. Great quality and great fit, which likely enables you to DIY. If I went the Mosley route I would definitely spring for as many new cushions that are available from Toyota, especially if this is a DIY project. Do it once, do it right and make it last.

If I went Katzkin, LCH, or LSeat (first 2 images) I would likely get a shop to install AND rebuild the foam at that time or if DIY, use new foam from Toyota.

I personally think many of the poor experiences are related to average and less quality covers installed at home without experience or the ability to add material or make sewing adjustments (needed with both Katzkin and LSeat) placed over compromised foam which creates wear and stress in many areas where quality corners were cut, IE not long lasting.

Just my experience as I have done Mosley, Katzkin, and L Seat in different 80 series over the past 4 years. You definitely get a higher quality leather and better fit out of the box with Mosley’s leather.
These look great. You installed yourself?
I'm in Nashville and been in touch with Katzkin earlier but rethinking and maybe Mosley now.

Leather is flowing! We had to pull the plug on sales several times during the Covid era due to mfr difficulties, but things have been running smoothly for several months.

Roadwire has been purchased by Katzkin. We do still have access to the same Roadwire product as before, made in the same facilities, with the original Roadwire leather (different material and colors than Katzkin) and have our same internal custom sales contacts to order from.
Glad to hear back up on supply.
Do you offer install too or have any rec's? Any shops in near/in Nashville you can recommend for the install?
I've done some upholstery on chair & couch so considering doing myself.

And seat heater/cooler still available?

I did not, the Mosley rear seat covers were installed by a local shop that does audio, leather kits in new cars, auto start etc. and the installer there is good friend of mine I have used for stereo work for 20+ years and he has done a lot of Katzkin installs, so these were easy.

The gray are LSeat covers that the PO had a fantastic area upholstery shop (that I have also used for 20+ years) install and rebuild the front seat cushions, probably spent $1200-$1300 on just doing the front seats. He has a couple of small children so he left the second row stock, I couldn’t live with the mismatch so I ordered the second row to match. I asked my shop about doing the install myself and they told me it was not a good idea to try and do an LSeat kit at home due to all of the sewing adjustments and material that usually has to be added to make them fit correctly and last.

I would do the Mosley kit over new Toyota Seat Cushions, especially if I was attempting to DIY.

Thanks.

Do you mind sharing the contact who installed yours? Is it a retail shop that I could hire?
He may be too far from me in Nashville, but I'd consider it. I have a brother in Oakridge so migght be able work something out while visiting him.
Thanks

It is a great shop, often exotics from all over the SE with cars there.

Yes, Katzkin seems like a relative bargain, it seems to me they get there by keeping installation costs under control. I think adding heat was around $600 installed. Others are less, but the wiring is not included.

I got a little antsy about seat heaters for our 80. My alternator is 80-amps and somewhere here I saw an analysis of power draw up at just over 55 amps. From that, I concluded 2 5-10 amp seat heaters were perhaps not a hot idea.
The Dorman seat heater kits I bought are fused by a 20A fuse (for both). They have two levels of heat, which I tied into the OEM seat heater buttons. Not sure what heaters would draw 55 amps but considering how hot these get on high level... that'd be crazy!

Wow I didn't realize all these replies were on here until today. Thanks for the input, all!
An update on my decision: After being contacted by Mosley and them confirming the leather was still coming from Roadwire/Katskin, I made the decision to purchase the Mosley leathers for the front row. LX450. I'll update more here when I get them :)

Please do, we’re are mostly committed to doing the same shortly. I am struggling with seat heat after being somewhat reticent about the power draw and the wiring requirements. I think it is doable.

I got the premium leather in Adobe. Perfect match for the 3rd row seat. Front and 2nd row cost $1800 installed by Local shop in dallas (Trinity Leather and Accessories)
Okay, I am looking at several vendors as I have the luxury of a bit of time. Katskins "Lunar Gray" seems the best, but not perfect match for mine.

It looks like they did a really nice job with yours! Congrats.

These are the Mosley leathers? Do you have a pic of the front Scheel Mann with the second row Mosley leather clad seats?

I can't find the OEM design option on their website (and it sucks). How did you get a cover to match the OEM pattern?
A year ago Katzkin only had the LX pattern which I understand uses slightly different bottom foam. But, they did indicate they might add the Landcruiser pattern.
