Jon,

You deserve to brag! Nice job. What did you do about seat foam? I now have a July 1 deadline in front of me and need to get busy.....finishing steering knuckle today hopefully!

Thanks for photos.
I had replaced both bottom and back with OEM Lexus seat foam along with aftermarket heaters when I first recovered them with the LSeat leather. That was about 10 years ago.
I'm not certain about this, but it sure feels like the Katzkin installer added some supplementary foam when they installed them. I'm sitting higher than before, and the back bolsters feel firmer.
In short, they're very comfortable and I'm a pretty happy camper.

Just drove home from Paymer & Phillips in Millersville, MD. Katzkin delivered the leather kit Monday and Paymer offered an earlier install slot. I was prickly about seat heating and did not want the Katzkin kit as I wanted to use the factory wiring. They were cool about it so I did switches, the underseat pins and provided Rostra 250-1900 pads.

They wanted the car the night before to allow the plastics to warm up indoors and this is what I got this evening. The color was Lunar Gray and on the lighter side but at the time I ordered Lt Gray seemed too dark. Anyway, the color delivered was a perfect match to the sample of 18 months ago and I am delighted with the result. Seat heaters are fast and warm. I did replace the bottom foam and Paymer added some to the back.

I have never done this before, but its seems to me the covers as they come from Katzkin are pretty robust.

That is it for major projects on this 80 Series heading to Denver in July.

I used Mosley and got all new oem Toyota foam as well. Very happy with them so far! I did heat seaters and went with the OEM JDM switches also!

Hi FitzyPDX. Did you replace the back portion of the front seats - the portion that's like a hard shell and holds the mesh/bungy pocket?
I've had the Mosely set in my possession for a while and finally getting around to installing it but not sure if it includes pieces for this hard shell portion. The kit includes some raw cut leather pieces that seem like they'd work but not sure yet. Thanks, Mike

I have the Mosley leather kit and it's superior quality. The additional foam they put on the backing makes it a little more work to fit them perfectly but I'm extremely impressed with their product. The kit comes with all the arm covers and the center console covers as well.. It even comes with peices for the door card leather.

They do come with the hard shell replacement covers. similarly to the photo above i did the same netting replacements. Much MUCH better.

Not the best angle for the back of the seats but you can see the fitment and quality pretty well.

I don’t have a ‘parts list’ for the Mosely kit but there’s two leather pieces about 16x24” each. These must be for the hard shell replacement?

That looks like the correct piece. If your panel and net are perfect, I would consider leaving it if the colors work together. Same for the panel in the door behind the armrest

This part is more art than science

That is consistent with the recommendation of our installer of a Katzkin Kit. It came with both back and door car pieces and their view was what was there was in good shape and replacing it had associated risks.

Thank you FJ60Cam and BTLSHP for the feedback. The back seat pocket mesh is trashed so I think I'm dropping that. I didn't realize the kit included the door panels too. I'll look into those later - those will take an extra level of care. I found this diagram from another site that lines up with the kit pieces

Any flat piece of unsewn raw material in the kit is “optional” IMO. Has to be justified
