All right folks, here is the plan . We will be meeting at the trailhead outside Clark, WY tomorrow evening. We will have an early morning and getting on the trail at 8 am. I will be leaving Bozeman around 5:30-6pm. Let me know if you would like to drive together. The last chance for gas is in the town of Bridger I think. Be sure to fuel up there.

Directions: I90 to Billings, Exit on the 212 in Laurel heading to Red Lodge. In Rockvale, take the 310. Plan to re-fuel in Bridger. Just outside of Bridger you will make a right on 72. Stay on 72 past Belfry and over the Wyoming border. 72 becomes 120. There is not much out there. You will pass 294 on your left, cross the Clark Fork and see the Edelweiss House on your left. Immediately after is a right turn on 292, which may not be signed. 292 goes through Clark, WY. There is one spot that gets a little tricky. There is a fork in the road that causes some confusion. Stay left. 292 is also County Hwy 8VC or Canyon Rd. You will be heading into a very obvious and beautiful canyon. Stay on the road going into the canyon. The paved road will eventually become a dirt road and dead end at the trailhead. We will camp there.

Please be aware that this trail is dangerous. Two people died there last week in a side by side accident. You must have a working parking brake. You must have a CB. You must have a good cooling system. If you drive a manual, you must be experienced on steep loose terrain. There is little room for error. If you are not scared off yet, this trail is one of the coolest trails around! BIG time pucker factor!

Please post up if you plan to attend. We are limiting the number of trucks on this, so please post up below if you plan on going!!

Aaron & I are rolling with you two, too!!!!!!

Hey guys have fun! I will try and join in on the next trip! I need to dirty up my polished 80.. Super nice to meet everyone!

So how long is the drive tomorrow night? I don't get off work till 6 and likely won't even get on the road till 7:30...

And I'm guessing by the early start we can expect to get back to Bozeman by Saturday evening?

There is a good chance we can turn Saturday into a very long day and be home that night. It will really just depend on what the day throws at us. Plan for camping Saturday night in terms of food and water. There are no convenience stores on the morrison!

The computer says that it is 2 h 49 min (177) from Bozeman to Clark, Wyoming, so figure a 3 hour plus drive?

I guess last time we were creeping at 65. The older 7000 lb trucks get some ugly mileage above that!!

There's no need to push to get back Saturday, I didn't realize how long the trail might take. I suppose with the trail just opening up we should be ready for anything... I will prep for two nights.

Let's meet at the target parking lot at 5:45. We will leave at 6. This will be the slow train doing about 65 mph.
