i found out my gas tank was leaking pretty bad on the way home in the new 60. I called rick about it and didn't even need to mention the recall before he was asking for the VIN to check on it for me. Sure enough teh recal work hadn't been done yet so he's ordered the parts and is going to have it all covered under warranty, no questions asked. they are even going to do the rear seatbelt recall work!

These guys are great, they should be the first place you go when looking for parts (or service!).

Hey what year is your 60....my rear seatbelt is a POS and I'm not sure about the gas tank thing. Thanks for the info Gehn.

Is it any wonder why these folks at RHT are our sponsors? They are the most dedicated group of folks I know when it comes to customer service!

I don't know this for a fact, but I wonder how many TLCA clubs out there have a great sponsor like Ralph Hayes Toyota? They're the best in my book!!!!!!:bounce:

cool thanks Gehn!

i got the cruiser back last week with a shiny new tank and the next day I got a call from a very nice lady from RH. She asked "is it true that land cruiser has over 260 thousand miles on it?...It's great seeing those old trucks still on the road, they're so classic. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for choosing Ralph Hayes, and I hope your experience with us was a pleasant one!"

it was a nice unexpected follow-up. they do treat us well, don't they?

yeah they do............... I feel bad for poor Rick and Travis I have been calling them up about once a week and go on one of my wild goose chases for parts for the 1962 FJ40 I bet 3/4 the stuff I ask for usually comes up discontinued; they never complain :D

JP do you have the EPC. Might make their job easier.

I actually use a 1964 parts manual I have with the 10 digit numbers that are currently used......... problem was sometimes the number would show up in the system but there wouldn't be any parts left. I guess they haven't gone through and updated their catalogs in a while. However yesterday I found a site that will actually show you how many parts are left and what dealer ship has them........ now I can save rick all kinds of time :D
