Jason. Do you glue the jute backing to the carpet or let it lay under there freely ? If you do glue it, is it edges only or whole piece ?

I don't do either. However, most glue jute to carpet.

Jason. On your sets do you have the plastic channel along the door edges like the OEM carpet? Is this a necessary channel in your opinion?

My kits do not have the plastic channel. It is stapled to the OEM carpet and can be transferred once the carpet is cut to your liking.

The channel acts as a support for the wire loom(s) and while it has its benefits, I don't think it is necessary. I've never replaced mine on the last three rigs I've built.
