Memory seats are available on both. Ventilated are available and stock on both in later model years…..

It seems like in 2013 the LC had ventilated seats standard. The LX did not. Here is a clip from the 2013 LX Brochure.

Do you guys have a guess how many pre 2013 LXs had ventilated seats? What about post 2012 LXs? I have been in one of each and they both had ventilated seats.

Agreed with Bomar. 95% sure LXs had heated and cooled seats standard from the get go in 2008.

Since this thread got dug up from the depths of time, here's an updated list of potential differences between the LC and LX. Later LCs got stuff flowed down, but the LXs continued to put on more features. Like ventilated second row outboard seats.

1) More sound deadening (acoustic glass, engine covers, more extensive interior insulation)
2) Powered rear hatch for open/close, also key fob operated (later LCs got this)
3) Soft open rear lower tailgate, with power latching
4) Surround camera system
5) Ventilated/Heated front row (later LCs got this)
6) Mark Levinson Reference (only other model to get the Reference system is the LS) w/surround (19 speakers vs 14, 10" sub vs 8")
7) Power side view mirrors with auto-fold (later LCs got this)
8) AHC - AVS, lift on demand, adjustable and continuous damping logic, anti-dive/roll/squat, leveling, etc.

How common is it to see the wood delaminate in the LX? (video below) this all reinforces what you guys are saying about every LX570 coming with ventilated seats.

The one thing to note on the LX comparison - While the LX offers a lot more, a lot of the upgrades were not standard options so the LX buyer had to tick the box. So for example, 2013 LC 200s had the pre-collision items as a standard option, while the LX 570 had it as an option with the distance cruise control (and I do not think that many selected it). The multi-view camera system (front, side, back) was standard on the LC, and required an option to be marked on the LX.

In 2013 the LC came with heated steering wheel, heated/cooled seats whereas the LX required those as options to be selected through a package or individually.

No doubt the LX is going to be quieter stock due to the extra noise insulation and have nicer quality materials, however if you are a stickler for features make sure to check the LX listings and pictures very closely to make sure that they have the features you want.

Safe bet is LC for the standard options, otherwise LX just make sure you verify it has what you want. And most dealers are going to have no idea what is actually on the car, so you will have to ask them to take pictures of dash and controls.

All of Lexus should have gone to the open grain / matte finish wood in the LS series... So much better looking...

And most Lexus's, particularly a high model end model like the LX, will only come in one of few ways - mostly fully optioned. Probably similar to LCs too. After all, what's another few thousand on a $90k+ vehicle. No heated/cooled seats on a flagship LX would be an oxymoron.

Totally agreed here - Not sure I have ever seen one without the premium package, however I have seen quite a few of the earlier 2014/2014 w/o the pre collision add on which was something I wanted for safety. Most people probably do not care, but I am way too picky.

Yup to pre-collision. Remote start was another option that wasn't on every example. And cool boxes, rear entertainment, radar cruiser, head-up display, and probably some other options that had more variability.

Most of the common luxury options were universally installed.

The main issue with the remote start is it is near impossible to tell if it is installed without just toggling the remote 3X. But in MN a must have.

Back hunting again at the brochure catalog because I am getting antsy in waiting out the price drops ugh.... 2016 was the first year the LX 570 had the cabernet leather interior color option (woohoo, sports car? though I actually like it) and first year the pre collision system was standard on the LX. However YMMV as to the point that most of the LX previous to this may have had the PCS installed as a fully optioned build. Safety third, first is looking cool and second is having fun.... or something like that.

This and the other thread on YM differences pinned in the FAQ were started earlier in the run than my 2020. Having been living in the 200 Series forum for the last couple of months I have picked up here and there what changed in both the LC and LX. I purchased during the inflation period in August but am happy with the truck I got. My question is what were the changes in the Land Cruiser version between 2016 and 2021. That was the range I was shopping and I had to have the 3rd row seat. I don't see any of the HE option items that I Jones for at all. I think I have seen that there are zero changes between the 2020 and 2021. My truck does have the cool box which I have decided I like a lot. Even with 2 fridges available to put in the back I like the handy unit up front.

Is there a listing anywhere of the model differences/updates from 2016+? Our 100 series is now up to over 360K going strong, but looking to potentially swap out our LR4 for a 2016+ 200 series. I'm only really interested in the LC differences. 2016-2019 is the budget range I had been looking at.

For those shopping for newer LXs:
2018+ LX 2-row is missing a lot of options so be aware of that.
easiest way to know if it’s close to fully spec’d is if you see the mark levinson stereo logo on the center dash.
