MSG, have you considered Amspoil synthetic motor oil?

Interesting, considering that Amsoil gets their base PAO from Mobil.

I have a case of 10w-30 Mobil1 in the garage I'll sell for $100.:D

BTW--X2 on the cheap gear oil for the diffs. The stuff in the t-case will be fine until Mobil is back in stock. I do think that's a good place for synthetic.

I just put Amsoil synthetic in all my diffs and the Cruiser runs a lot smoother then it did before w/ regular gear oil.

I used to be in the oil business and the only news I trusted came from an industry magazine called "Lubes-N-Greases"...yeah snicker all you want...

Here is the article from their web edition
PAO Shortage Squeezes Mobil 1

The shortage is being caused by PAO. That sucks....

glad I have 6- 5 gallon jugs from Wally mart in the garage then....:D

Yea, ExxonMobil only made something like $40B in net profit in the last 12 months, I'm sure they can't keep their synthetic mobile oil line going :flipoff2:

I am sure dino oil will do no harm. The truck will be my daily driver with about 90 miles driven per day. I was thinking of using the synthetic to get ever extra bit of MPG out of the truck. I do know the motor will never see anything but synthetic as long as I own the truck.

If I can't find 2 more quarts of mobil1 5-30 syn, I'll be posting up a case of six in the classifieds for those that are hoarding. ;)

I have two I bought by mistake. PM if you want them.

No shortage here in Houston except the Mobil 1 synthetic grease I have hard time hunting down.

Placebo effect. You have to be able to justify spending the money on expensive oils....

:p

I have 1997 100K miles Ford Taurus with Original transmission, car has half of its miles driven in NYC. ( yea thats New York City):)

Now there are two choices here

a. God acted and had showed his mercy on my car
b. Mobil ATF performs miracles... and turns worst car with worst transmission into short of Lexus quality shifting beauty with Ford logo.
:D
You pick your choice. I will use Mobil ATF not that I dont believe in God but I believe he had guided me to the Mobil shop long time ago.

ATF is a completely different story. We are talking about gear oil for diffs.

I drain and refill tranny fluid every oil change--good, clean, fresh ATF is paramount for tranny longevity.

If you want a good alternative to Mobile 1 and want to go synthetic in the diffs, I would recommend Redline 75w-90.

Notice I said "want" to go synthetic...

Our company is one of the world's largest producers of LAO and PAO base stocks in the world so I tend to use synthetic in everything.

Tiss true................

I have a 08 Esclade on the rack, no oil in it and was just told we have no Mobil 1 and none at the local parts house's..........
