Ripped all the s*** off the front of the engine to get to that timing gear cover…. Thought I would not have to take off sheet metal but I was wrong, could not get the gun in there to take off the nut. Few pics….

well MILLHOUSE was here on Saturday, and we got that cover all put on.... we started putting things back together, did not finish I had to put the rest of it together on sunday... ran it for 15-20 min and no leaks so I am real happy now I spend the time to do this and get it done.... everything went smooth except I had to weld in a new stud on the radiator support bracket as I broke the old one off taking it apart.

pic 1... old gasket

pic 2 bad pic of timing cover back on

pic 3 bad pic of top end all put back together...

Worked on wiring for stereo more yesterday... still not happy with it all so just cleaning it up and making it look nicer. Think I am going to put it on a switch so I don’t have to have key on if I want to just listen to radio.... so need to get something for that..

First of all, your cruiser looks amazing! Really nice work and choices.
I like how you are going about your stereo install. I'm hoping to do the same, keeping it audible but tastefully hidden.

Can you post up pics of how the front speakers turned out and where did you install your amp and sub? Thanks.

yea... I will get some... my amp and sub I have not screw in to the tub yet, still debating on exact location. I got one of the BASLINK ones from Infinity... I had it already or I would have boughten a smaller one just to slide under the seat. think you can kind of see my front speaker in one pic before, but next time I post up, I will get you a better one.

What is the blue tape on the oil filter housing?

Let me begin by saying that I know i'm a newbie, an idiot who doesn't use the search option enough, my bezel is upside down, and my head is up my a#$ (I figured I'd spare you forum nazis from having to remind me).

That being said, awesome rig it looks amazing, and i have to know what the name of that color is. I'm confident it's listed 4567 times somewhere in this thread, but my computer has locked up 4 times trying to find it...

Thanks for taking the time to keep this thread updated, it REALLY REALLY helps virgins like myself.

OH! And i freakin LOVE TOP GUN!!!!!

If you decide on installing another sub then look at Blaupunkt THb210A Powered Subwoofer. A buddy has this one and it fits under the drivers seat perfectly. Sound great too.

Later,

Tough click to break into.........OLIVE (green/brown/blue/yellow...something like that), found it, had to go to best buy and get a new laptop to find it, but i did.

If you guys have any Top Gun Parties soon, let me know - I'd love to attend with my flight jacket and tighty whities. I understand what being the new "wingman" entails...

saw a drop of oil there when I was taking it all apart so I cleaned it up real well, so I could see if it was leaking after I ran it again, put that tape on there to make sure I did not forget to check it. :D Redneck reminder..... :flipoff2:

yea... I know this one will.... but since I have this one already I just am too cheap to buy a new one of these... so this one will take up some room in the back... besides saving under the seat room for whiskey and smokes... hehe!! :D

Been an exciting week to say the least in the shop…. Had my grandpa up on Thursday to do some work on his grandpa car… then a buddy and me spend about 4 hours doing the final buff on the cruiser. It came out looking great…. Still have a few parts I am not happy with that I will spend more time on, but it looks like a whole new truck….

I also had a friend show up that I have not seen in a long long time!!! Matt from Roseau and if you don’t know who he his you should spend some more time in the 45 section… like the top sticky forums…:D Matt has not seen my 40 since I pulled out of his driveway with it, two and a half years ago. He was here for like 2-3 hours… was great to talk to him again, gave me some good advise on what to do with my doors.. (more of that to come) other than that just shot the s*** for the rest of the time…. When you hang out with a guy like matt… and when you get talking stuff time seems to fly by too fast!!!! Thanks again Matt!!! Stop in anytime!!!!

Oh yea… I did not lower the cruiser… he is just really tall…. Really really tall… like 6’10” :flipoff2::beer::beer::beer:

Got some work done also…. Got the tach and hour meter all in and hooked up… actually took longer than I thought it would, but had people stopping in all weekend so it went slow because of that…
