well I have been working on the truck alot lately. still got alternator problems... got that out and going to get it tested on my lunch hour and decide what to do at that point, been looking into all the options, I have to say I am not too excited about going with a GM, even though that is what everyone says... anyhow we will see later today.

radiator is at the shop as we speak....

got the rear breaks to stop leaking, got the speedo hooked up, also changed oil since I had it on the lift.

go the jump seats recovered, and put in (pics to come)

also started on speakers (pics to come)

Got my radiator back and fixed, hooked all back up and working great. I did end up going with a GM alt. mainly because of the added charging ability over the stock one. I had them put a diode in the inside of the case, so it has less of a chance to break off. Hook the red wire up to the post along with the one from the factory harness and then hook the white wire up to a 12 volt on key ignition, I choose the pos side of the coil.

I also had to change to the 2f pulley, took 2 shims that came with the alt. to get the belt in the perfect place. I had to open up the 2f bracket about a 1/4-inch to accept the Gm alt. I don’t have a stock tensioning bracket so don’t know if you have to modify that at all. I had to modify mine to work with the old 1f alt. that I was using, so it worked on the GM junk also.

AND YES MR CRAMER, I WAS WRONG YOU WERE RIGHT........... But I don’t think I was arguing the point as much as I was questioning the information I got from reading on Mud............................

a few of redoing the jump seats... had to take off old covers, they were not rusted but for a few spots so I just hit them with sand paper really well, got that all off and shot them with black paint, order covers from cool cruisers, they seem alright... got new stainless steel hardware and new strap and also a new turn buckle thing..

Now I have started putting in the sounds system, I wanted something that will be loud enough for me to listen to when I am driving, but I also wanted more than anything for it to be as clean as possible looking, I just could not see bolting a Bose on the roll bar and calling it good… just not my style…

So I started out figuring out speaker size and where it could be located and still all work together… I decided on the kick panels like the SOR junk you have all seen, I did not want to spend $100 on their bracket so I made one out of this plastic material that my dad had laying around.

On the rears I used the corners to house my speakers, made a bracket out of plastic also for them. Unfortunately if I want the speakers in these locations I can only fit a 4 ½ inch speaker, but since I will also be running a sub I should be alright… I chose Infinity speakers all around, as I have always had good luck and enjoyed the previous ones I have had…

Were you able to locate that nipple I was looking for? :D

Its been a long winter... been a while since I have been able to locate any nipples... :D

and that includes the Toyota one you are looking for... I have looking through all my s***, with no luck, that does not mean it will not show up... and if I find it I will grab it for you...

Damn, and here I thought the cold was supposed to make them stand out more for easier location? :D

Must be a mini-truck thing, all their nipples just disappear when they aren't being 'used'....

:grinpimp:

Been a while since I posted anything… have been too busy with accounting stuff most night to get out there… I did get my tuffy counsel. I ordered the bracket from cool cruisers to “bolt” that in… well it was not even close to being a bolt in application… so I cut and welded that bracket to make it work… did that at Furballs house last Sunday. Also welded in the extensions for the license plate holder on the basket. I forgot to take pics of it…. So I will before I install. Still have not installed front speakers either… got my hour gauge, and holder for 1 more gauge which will be a tach, just have not decided on which one I am getting yet. Ordered parts from Cdan on Friday so I can take the timing cover off and put new gasket on there… really not looking forward to tearing this all apart but I don’t want the leak in there this summer.

Few pics for you… took the sleds up to the worlds largest ice fishing contest last weekend.. we just drove around, no fishing.. it was –25F below… so it was cold… going to look at a different sled tonight might pick it up… had way too much fun!!
