ok... so I did get my heater blasted and ready for paint... I want to get that at least painted before I head north on friday... I got that deer skun out and quartered last night.. hopefully I can finish that tonight and then get to that heater... OH yea... my lift works great for lifting deer out of the pickup to... :D

I like how you hold that buck's head up for the picture. You should put your thumb and index finger on either side of his mouth and make him smile.:D

haha.... well the "good ol boys" in ND have been watching this boy for a few years, from their stands and trail cameras... they named him "Lucky"... well he was not so lucky on saturday.. :D one thing if you ever get to northern ND those guys are fanatical about 3 things... big bucks, the Fight Sioux and drinking... I cant stay more than 4 days there... or I would be dead!! :D seriously....

Good find, I have the hood. Rear gate and door hinges off that truck.

If I keep the gate I will pull off the mounting hardware for the top and get it to you.

Any time. Good to see it go to a good use and good home.

still working.. got the heater in and decided to take it all out again because I realized I was missing once piece. I will post up once that is done. Got a quote on exhaust, and need to get those seats in and done.. I have not given up.. just been busy doing nothing lately... It will be on the road this spring for sure...

One quick question. I haven't followed all the posts between you and Shane on the heater, but I bought one from him a couple of years ago and it heats great, but I've been having the same problem wth the flapper for the defrost not staying up. Without looking through all those posts, was there an easy answer for making that stay up? Is that the piece you are missing?

I think that "V" shaped spring is what holds it up. I bet Shane will send you one if yours broke.

nope mine is not missing the spring... the top flap works great it is the bottom flap... and I need another bracket that was missing with my truck. here is a pic from shanes stuff that has one correctly put together. I am missing the bracket with the little shift knob on it. one is on its way now thanks to mike from Canada.

Thanks a lot for ruining my life!

So I get to work this morning and jump onto Mud to post a few pics for a guy who needs some help with his hardtop, then look around while the coffee kicks in. I come across your thread and end up reading ALL 27 PAGES!!!! I got nothing done today, my boss is annoyed and worst of all there's no payoff! Your rig's not done yet. AAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Seriously though, awesome job, rig looks great and I would do soooo many bad things to have a shop like that!

Below is my daily driver.

So how is that paint on the shop floor holding up? I am think about doing that too, but wasn't sure about durability. I noticed at one time you were using car dolleys with the steel wheels to move you cruiser around, did the paint hold up to that? What about grease and other chemicals?

You can disparage you body and paint skills all you want, but I think your cruiser looks great. Very nice paint job. Gives me hope for my first paint job!

Wow!!! Really great thread! :bounce2:Cool color too!!! :bounce2:
So have you driven it much? Are you going to take it out in the snow this winter? Looks like you have a really nice shop! Like the dog too! :D

paint has held up well. no problem with dolley or any chemicals. including brake fluid. only scuff is where millhouse went back and forth with his 37" tire when we were working on his power steering. i am happy with it

Wow, mine doesn't look anything like that. I'm sure it's the difference in model year. It's at home, but it's just a simple flap that lifts up and down with a lever that says defrost. As I recall there is a spring on the flap. The old heater that was in it had the lever bent over pretty hard so it had some drag on the heater housing. Shanes was so clean and restored I didn't really want to do that. I have a litte bungy hanging off the heater switch I reach down and clip on the lever. The only problem with that is that's the bungy I wrap around the low range lever to keep it from falling out of low range:grinpimp:. I guess I could get a second bungy:hillbilly:.

yea they changed heaters like in 74 or so. u have the old style. there are a few threads out ther talking about old heaters. i would post links but i am on my cell now
