My girlfriend was talking about buying an old grand wagoneer so i just bought a 76 iron pig to keep her occupied...(and to give me some fun too) :-)
Unfortunately its missing all the keys, PO lost them all. He said a locksmith was unable to make them on site. i’d like to make my own key for ignition and gas door.(and avoid the $75-175 replacements or locksmith fees) anyone have advice on how to hand file a key blank for a 76’ FJ55? Or anyone have any old ignition key/door key they want to sell? Ive read threads where guys hand filing a new key from a blank and also having luck using an ignition key from another FJ55 that is similar? But dont see any details on filing? Thanks!

Circus Camo is what my neighbors are calling it. :-) ive got the ignition key sorted out but need a key for all doors, tailgate and gas door. I pulled the lock from passenger door and its stamped code is T3407. Anyone know if a dealer can make a new key from that code?

no key needed for the ignition, take the screw out of the piece at the back of the cylinder, where all the wires are attached and use a screwdriver in the slot.

you can try other Toyota keys and might get lucky and get the ignition to turn and then remove it. either replace with known good one or take to locksmith and have a key made then it should fit the doors also.
