I have a pair of mini knuckles of unknown vintage that I got from a buddy for my front disc conversion on my FJ. I took the old rotors off to clean the hubs & knuckles, and like a DS, I tossed them in the scrap bin before I checked on replacements. Now I read on All Pro Offroad that there are early ('79-'81) and late ('82-85) vented rotors, not interchangeable according to them. There are 6 hole and 8 hole versions. It says to compare, and yep, dur, my scrap bin is empty now. Dang that spring cleaning!
Is there a way I can tell the year from the hub or knuckle? I had to pound the studs out to get the rotor off too, is that a clue? Parts America online shows a picture of an 8 holer for an '81 cruiser.
Any Idears? Will the old style knuckle/hubs fit a vented rotor and my V6 calipers?
Thanks.
