Shoutout to this guy leading the charge in the Land Cruiser 250 community! He’s already hit 30k miles in just three months. As a medical courier putting 120k miles a year, he’s making the 250 his daily driver. Running 255/70/18 Blizzak DM-V2 snow tires. BTW he’s the same guy who put 500k miles on a 2020 Rav4 Hybrid in 4 years now he’s got himself a Land Cruiser 250

This thread is lacking information. The guy has put a lot of miles on his LC 250. Okay, what does he think? That's what we're all interested in.

So this thread is.....nothing but a PSA that we can go to reddit?
It's meant to be spreading the news that we'll see how these rigs can handle high milage sooner than we thought within the next couple years we'll potentially see 360k+ miles, this guy is famous for racking the miles and we're kinda blessed to have him on our team. In 4 months he's attained 40k miles, thats pretty freaking impressive and worth posting an entire thread based just off his feats. in one years time we'll see how this cruiser handles 120k miles two years 220k and so on very valuable info along the way of those miiles honestly if you don't like it move on. Just like anything else in life the easiest thing in this world is to get is distracted.

What is this Reddit stuff? Why does it have any meaning? Trying to gauge veracity of information. Thanks.
No worries, Reddit can be confusing especially if you're like me and used to using oldschool forums, Shoot I've been on some forums since 97' and still using them. This is from the Land Cruiser subreddit. It's a community where people share advice experiences and photos about Land Cruisers. kinda like what they do here, So I'm spreading the news from there to here on what this guys acheived. Just to clarify the point of this thread is simple tracking the miles. Each 10k without issues is the data. I'll update with major findings if anything changes, but otherwise, smooth sailing is the good news.

Thank you for the clarification. Apologies for my Luddite tendencies/inquiries.

I’m wary of the info-sphere outside of MUD mainly because of the level of quality technico-informational moderation here engendered by @woody over the past 25+ years. Beholden to no one.

Every person here that moderates is an SME with an understanding of the technical nature of Toyota Land Cruisers as artifacts of the Toyota Production System writ large and we all have intimate knowledge of turning wrenches on them professionally/amatuerly as well understanding these products as parts of the global mobility network systems at play.

Mileage characterizations only mean so much in the infancy of a new model introduction.

I’ve been through at least three life cycles of Toyota Land Cruiser.

Many people who contribute to MUD have been engaged with Toyota Land Cruiser since their introduction here in the US in the early 1960’s.

In fact, mileage means less and less as the quality of vehicles (across all manufacturers) grows more and more robust from the level of part and assembly through vehicle dynamics and vehicle life cycle: IE: product development-life of product—death and recycle back into material basis.

So, I am merely trying to ascertain **why** mileage, at this point in the game, is a value data point— I basically accept that all modern vehicles should at least, by design, last 100K miles with little to no major maintenance ascribed to their initial design parameters.

Mileage is no longer a parameter of quality. All of the OEMs already know this.

Toyota especially knows this as they have been looking at product development over the long range: Toyota product development cycles are viewed through 30-50 year life-cycles of entire families of vehicles and global transportation needs based on available/developing methods of propulsion: our current words are ICE/Hybrids/PHEV/EV/Hydrogen…. There will be more in the near term.

Ergo, mileage requirements are but one parameter of QDR: IE: the most important marketing parameters of Toyota Land Cruiser.

how many times has his windshield cracked right up the middle?

I know 3 people so far that its happened to.

last i heard toyota/lexus has a backorder nationally of over 1k windshields......and in most states annual inspection will fail with this crack

While miles driven IS a useful metric. Not all miles are equally stressful to a vehicle. Highway being the least; assuming the speeds driven are reasonable
Came here to say this...if guy is setting cruise at 80mph for most of these miles the vehicle is likely staying in the same gear, etc.
It's cool though but not so much a hallmark.

I get that mileage isn’t everything but it’s still pretty interesting to see how a brand new Land Cruiser holds up through its first couple hundred thousand miles. If anyone’s going to hit 200K in the next year or so it’s this guy. In the meantime we might as well turn this into the Mileage roll call thread where folks can share updates and experiences as their miles add up. Pretty much every forum ends up with a “mileage roll call” thread for each model anyway might as well get this one started early.

I’m just shy of 12K on mine.

No real complaints other than it’s not living up to the advertised MPG. It was close with the OEM tires, under 20 with LT275/70r18. I’ve got over 2000 miles of towing a 2500lb overland trailer. Only 13.5MPG.

Beyond that I’ve got accustomed to nearly all the modern safety crap. No longer bothers me. My wife complains about the NVH. Says she gets car sick easier in the 250 than any other vehicle. I don’t have any such issue. No the 4cylinder is not as smooth as a V-8. Never will be.

I like the little Prado. My 80 is still the primary trail truck.

It’s a massive online groupthink machine dressed up as open discourse. Half ideological purity contest, half influencer side hustle—where fake reviews thrive, nuance dies, and everyone’s competing to be the loudest voice in the room. Think digital circle jerk with a karma score.

And don’t forget if you disagree or might be smarter, they will ban you. God forbid you don’t read their pedantic set of rules that they came up with over a Pokémon game. Average intellect and emotional maturity is that of a young child that was never spanked.
