How in the world are you getting 29.7?
I am about 6000 miles and 20.7mpg is where I have been for the past 2500 miles.

How are you getting 18+??? I’m 6500 on my 2025 premium w/20in wheels. Still stock. I’m easy on the pedal, eco mode, premium fuel…
I suppose it is because most of my driving is to and from work. 12 miles round trip. I Rarely exceed 50mph. And it’s flat.
I did hit 20.8mpg recently however 2 interstate road trips pushed it down to 20.5. I was north of 80mph a good bit.

We see 22-23mpg regularly with 275/70-18 Toyo RT Trails and a 2” lift. “Regular” driving mode and regular unleaded. I’ve only put one tank of premium in it in 38,000. 😱

You need to ditch those 49lb 20" "premium" wheels (get some OEM 18" wheels @32lbs or go lighter aftermarket)
Switch to "Normal Mode"
You have roof rack or crossbars (Ditch those also)?
What oil you using, have you changed oil yet?

My MPG#s
city driving short trips average 19.8-20mpg,
highway @ 65 and lower 26-32mpg
highway @ 65-80+mph 21mpg

Normal Mode
91
0-w20 Toyota. Toyota has high molybdenum @ 900ppm, Mobil one is @ 80ppm (Ask Chat GPT why Toyota uses high molybdenum oil)
18" aftermarket wheels @ 26Lbs each +40 offset (Bradley V japan)
OEM Michelin XTL tires (changing soon to a lightweight AT, Toyo or Perelli)
no roof rack or crossbars
no lift (soon to be 1.5)
Avoid letting the Turbo kick on (put the turbo gauge on your screen)
Coasting is your friend (watch the RPM gauge)
10800 miles (im on my 4th oil change, next change @ 14000)

2025 GX550 Overtrail on Toyo RT Trail 275/70/18's, currently sitting at 9500 miles in nine months of ownership. Averaging 18.6mpg overall, I've seen as low as 15.9mpg around town, it averages 17-ish mpg in the city, 19-20mpg on the highway, with the highest highway fuel economy at 21.2mpg.

Just finished a 1,800-mile road trip from Central Kansas to Eastern Tennessee. We were on the interstate on the way out and then stayed on 2/4 lane for the trip home. Trip average 22.3 MPG.

17k on the odometer so far. We have towed a 5k+ camper, and it handles and pulls great. MPG dropped to around 12 at 60 - 65 MPH.
