Nicely integrated unit - but for Non-Nav vehicles --

Toyota Land Cruiser 100 Series Aftermarket Navigation Car Stereo

Does not do carplay, but does google-play.
Sad to see the CruiserOps fail - sadly the integrated 'technology' is difficult to work around. Really enjoy the Pioneer NEX in my '98 100. Everytime I think of replacing it (220k miles), the silly factory system/Navigation on newer model stops me.
Kevin.

@Higgin - whoa.. good catch. I didn't notice that crack previously, but I just went and checked and it is definitely there. Very thin hairline crack.

As @BudgetLC suggested, I looked into the digitizer replacement, and just ordered one on eBay for $80.

I also found video on youtube of someone disassembling the unit and getting to the screen.

I already took it apart today, and it was pretty simple. Definitely worth trying rather than spending the $400 to have someone else repair it.

@TXSunDevil - interesting info, I appreciate it. I've asked RobRed to share some of his research, and I'm going to dig into the wiring a bit to see how feasible a one off swap is. 2004 and 2006 should have the same wiring.. I don't want to be that Pioneer that ends up face down in a ditch with arrows in my back! lol.

How long did it take to replace the digitizer? Any suggestions? Looks like 80 screws +

from the 7:49 mark in the video there's two more screws I think to get to this. That ebay link that budgetLC posted is the same part # that's in this picture. Pretty simple swap, I wouldn't do it in the car though. LTA070B054F

@musthave After I got the whole unit removed from the truck, I'd say it was less than an hour to take it all apart, replace the screen and put it back together. And that was really taking my time. It was actually very easy. Much easier than I expected.

I just ordered it on EBay. Fingers crossed.

@Higgin - is it better than the stock unit?

Like Spike555 said, it is just a new replacement of the stock screen. Looks and functions exactly the same as when the truck was new. I haven't had a single issue with mine since I replaced it. Works exactly as it should. BTW - Interesting that the screen is now only $29. I think I paid $79 just a few months ago. Awesome deal. Dealer quoted the previous owner of my LX $5800 to replace the whole Nav unit to fix the cracked screen. PO traded it in less than 2 weeks later. I assume that was the main reason because the truck was in tip-top shape besides that.

I just remembered and thought I'd let you know for when you replace your screen.....If you don't yet have one, buy a JIS tipped screwdriver. The screws all look to be phillips, but the LC, like most things made in Japan, uses JIS tipped screws. Most of the screws have a hex head and you can just use a small nut driver, but there are a few that are not hex head or the driver wouldn't fit......For those, you might be able to get away with using a phillips screwdriver if you are very careful, but I stripped one of the screw heads on mine before it clicked in my brain that they were JIS screws. I knew they were beforehand, but you just get in that habit of seeing the + and thinking Phillips. So just an FYI. I had already bought a set for use on my honda and kawasaki motorcycles, so I had some around, but they can be somewhat hard to find local. I bought mine online.

Great tip @Higgin, i never would have thought of that.
Just like the Wentworth bolts on my Land Rover, not SAE, not Metric.

Did some digging and came out to around $1300 for the nav delete. The 88650-60810 amplifier piece is a pain to find. Only can find it for around $550 but nothing cheaper. Is this part required for a 2005 LX? Partsouk does not carry it
