Hello
I have an '04 LC and recently was on a hunting trip. During some heavy rain, the screen suddenly went black and I have no idea why. its been in many rainstorms before so I dont think that plays a role but wanted to include it.
What I do know is I currently can not access my climate controls, repair log info and navigation. In fact, its 100% blacked out and the buttons surrounding it do not work.
The only think working currently is the clock and it is displaying intermittently (Stays on for 5 seconds, then turns off for 3 seconds, then back on for 5 seconds)

My radio works fine and the BT45 TOY I installed still takes calls and plays music.

I have checked some fuses and swapped some around but nothing seems to be working and none of the fuses appear to be blown, so I am at a loss.

Any help would be appreciated and I will update as I troubleshoot

I had a fuse in the passenger kick panel pop that gave me a similar issue. I know you said you checked fuses so might not be much help. If its not that I'd check the connections in the back of the head unit next

Thanks for the suggestion. I have triple checked fuses and all were good. Started the car and it did the same thing. Screen is 100% blacked out apart from the clock flashing as mentioned above. Tomorrow I will pull the unit to check if it’s getting power but my current assumption is this is the 60 pin issue I have read about on other threads. Mine seems to have a unique way of doing it but many of the same symptoms are appearing.

SOLVED. I am writing this from my LC because I am too damn excited. I went after the 60 pin and followed a tutorial I found here: DIY: 2004 Multi Function Display (MFD) PIN 60 Repair - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/diy-2004-multi-function-display-mfd-pin-60-repair.855980/

To anyone experiencing the same issue as me, this was my fix. I will warn you too, I soldered it the first time and didn’t do it right. I recommend using a VERY small amount of additional solder just to be sure. Anyways, my beauty is 100% again now I’m gonna go on a cruise and feel proud. Thanks to all that followed.
