I’m up for whatever. What does everyone want to do?
And just like that, I was reminded that I am leaving for a trip on the 17th to San Angelo, TX. However, let me know if there is anything I can do since I won't be able to make it now. I did win my fantasy football, therefore I am loaded with fun money to buy t-shirts, stickers, and club dues!

Going to stick my nose in, don't vary from what works. Pick a day and a place and stick with it. From experience, while it seems like a good thing to try and accommodate, you'll shoot your foot if you vary much. Set a date and stick with it as best you can. Set a place and try to stick with it. I know kids and life can throw wrenches, but the cruiser club is like anything else, if it's important it needs to have some priority and those meetings and events planned around just like ball practice or "fill in the blank" everyone may not make it every month, but if you move it around too much, eventually no one will know when or where and then it will start to drop off fast.

Keep up the great work guys. And apologies if it's out of place, but I know how it goes and have sat by myself waiting for no one to show up because we tried the move it around idea for a bit. From what I can tell, even if attendence goes down, consistency seems to be good for the core group to stay together.

**realizing that different strokes for different folks, so know the above is my opinion only and is worth what you paid for it and is coming from a state away**

Actually, it’s refreshing to hear the same sermon I’ve been preaching from experience as well. I’ve also been the sole member show up and eventually leave 30 minutes in.

Billys on Rocky Ridge or BWW on 280.

Great advice. We tried one of the brew pubs downtown, but couldn't hear each other.

I was a proponent of Back 40 and will be the first to admit that our one attempt to meet there was less than great due to the office holiday parties, group runs and trivia night going on while we were there. I think it was a perfect storm - I've never seen anywhere near that many people in that place after work. It looks like our meeting night is going to continue to fall on trivia night there, which seemed to be pretty confined to one end of the brewery. But if that is bothersome to the group then I'm fine with trying something else. I guess we also have to think about what's going to be easiest for folks with the upcoming I-59/20 construction. My understanding from looking at the ALDOT maps is that through traffic is going to be routed to I-459 and local traffic is going to be routed to 280 - both of which could affect accessibility to Billy's and BWW.

My $0.02 is most people are probably coming straight from work.
I would guess that most work in the downtownish area. Do we want to meet closer to where they work or where they live?

I definitely fit in that category, but may be in the minority. I'd rather meet closer to where I work because by the time the meeting is over, traffic has cleared out and it's easier to get to where I live. Just another $0.02.

another consideration, would downtownish be more convenient to everyone? Is there a place to park our vehicles together for the usual BSing before the meeting? I know some people aren't active on mud and only use the FB page too.

I think we have Gardendale, Bessemer, Crestline, Cahaba Heights, Inverness, Hoover etc. represented.

It’s once a month. I’d meet in Montgomery if that’s where it was held.

Can’t wait for y’all to decide. I’ll see y’all there!

FWIW there's a BWW downtown now, next to Regions Field.

Its in the old forbes distributing company building by Regions field.
Google Maps

I ran by the downtown BWW yesterday after work to check it out. Parking is grim. It's a BWW shoehorned into a much smaller space than a regular BWW. At 4:30 pm yesterday afternoon the small parking lot was completely full. There was metered and non-metered street parking available nearby and some parking lots owned by surrounding businesses with empty spots, but nothing that looked convenient to parking together, gathering around rigs or popping hoods. Unless someone has other thoughts, I think we can cross it off the list.

Ok, after much discussion and countless sleepless nights and thousands of group texts....we are meeting at Billy's in Liberty Park 6pm (back to the basics).

We are going to do some brewery/bar nights separate from the "Monthly Club Meeting", where we can bring the wife/girlfriends and all have a good time.

I think we need us an “impromptu” thread!!!!
