I have an FJ60 at home. But I was on vacation in Panama in a place called El Valle and saw this at the local fire house.

Had to post it under the 70s forum.

If it's a NA 3B, the fire will be out before they get there. :)

Hi all,

Looks to be a RJ-70.

Don't thing it's an RJ .. knowing my Panama, likely it's an LJ luckily El Valle it's not that hi .. or that 2L would not be able to even start ..

Hi all,

Well, I said "RJ" mainly because I did not see a diesel badge on the front grill. But who really knows?? ;)

Regards,

Alan

I guess it doesn't rain in Panama.

I guess it doesn't rain in Panama.

it rains a lot .. I mean seriously, our rainy season ( aprox April to November ) you could see a week of rain, non stop 7 days .. lately weather it's changing a lot, but Oct used to be the heavies month of rain .. like raining every single day of the month.

Would the tiny exhaust pipe indicate gasser?

Not necessary .. 2L NA it's just a 2.4cc diesel engine ..

NO driver's side wiper blade. I guess that thing never moves then?

Looking at lights/grille and exhaust I'd guess that's an 80's BJ70 with a 3B engine. Could be wrong as don't know the Panama market and only talking from what I've seen where I am.

Did they ever put a 2L in a Landcruiser?

You'll be surprised how many folks down here use the manual arm setup .. :D but that one being a " government " vehicle if that runs, it probably didn't have updated papers, or any decent spare part since was 2 or 3 years old ..

sure they did in an Light Duty Land Cruiser II we got that model ( pretty popular back in the day ) 2L / 2L-T and 3L

Hi all,

This is a "light duty (LJ/RJ) Land Cruiser, not a "heavy duty" (BJ/FJ/HJ) Land Cruiser.

Notice the front turn signals on this truck - the turn signals are inside of the grill, next to the headlights, not mounted on the outside of the hood apron (like on a BJ70 or HJ75.) This is a quick way to ID a light duty Land Cruiser. These trucks used the drive train from the HiLux pickups.

Regards,

Alan
