I will do my best to keep you updated, but as usually I could get sent off at 4:59 on Thursday right before I get off of work. Then I still need to see how the wife is feeling, since she would be due about two weeks after that weekend. Josh

I second running the whole trail for clean up. As for direction I'm not partial, but would be fine with camping friday night and then meeting up at O'brien and running McGrew on Satruday if others want to do that. Whatever the plan works for me.

Oh I sent G double Tizzle the picture, but they have fixed the road down to SD. Not only did they fix the washed out areas, but smoothed the road quite a bit as well.

Hey guys!

If time works out, mind if I tag along? We could go over some sweet jumps!

I was going to pre-run to clean out branches for a princess or two I hope to have along on McGrew. Leading a run out to Eastern Oregon and McGrew is the optional start for that run. 3FE wagons... well fewer and fewer actual 3FEs... from all over the US. Maybe 10-20? I don't know until they register.

Cheers,

Come on down Ken, would love to have ya!

So you guys want to hold the July meeting early and knock it out at Sourdough while we're down there? :hhmm:

One per quarter...so technicaly that would be four per year... with what is covered it doesn't seem that the spacing is critical....

We are interested in this pre run as these dates work out better for us than the official TLCA run as we will just be arriving back from Colorado/Moab area.
A couple of questions first though, we wont have our skid plates on our rig by this date so what are these trails rated at as this would be our first time at McGrew Trails?
We wont be camping out as we could stay at my inlaws nearby, but we could show up early saturday morning. Is there a limit on vehicles and has it been met?

Thanks!

i think your rig would be fine, there are bypasses to the harder areas.
as far as camping at the inlaws. its a long way into sourdough, as we plan on running the trail backwards.
i suppose if you wanted you could meet us at the saddle or something and run the trail from there out with the rest of us.

even meeting at the saddle is about 2+ hours from obrien store by the forestry roads.

No vehicle limit and it will be a small run. You are more than welcome. I am imagining we will leave Sourdough around 9 or 10 on Saturday morning giving you enough time to find us if you leave at or before 7. Or you can meet us at the halfway point or at the Sourdough entrance. We can give you more detailed info if needed as to which roads and trails to take, etc.

I ran it in a basically stock 80. I bypassed the harder parts, looking back I probably could have done a lot of 'em.

Cool, thanks for the info guys. We have done Rogers Road/Hoodraiser/Cedar Tree Trail and other trails at Tillamook State Forest at our stock height with no problems other than minor scraping (we have rock sliders and oem skid) We should be getting our lift installed in the next week or two.
BTW: Is there a trail map online that I can download or look at?

I'm looking for details also, is the date set?

I found this;

Oregon Byways: 75 Scenic Drives in ... - Google Book Search

if it helps anyone. can't print the body, buy the book I guess?

ok, re-read the post, 27th running from sourdough camp (lat/long location??) camping the night before. I think it's NFD roads all the way into sourdough? I'll swing by my local office for a map.

Here are more, and in case it isn't apparent the map above SD is in the top left hand corner and from there I think I kept McGrew in frame over the next...3 maps back to O'Brien. I didn't look as closely as I should but I think the forest service road is also on all of the maps and if not at least the only turn required should be :grimpimp:
