Classic Cruiser/Sports car run is on for May 8th.
I know a few of us Cruiserheads own other vehicles and have expressed
a desire to do something like this.
Just thought I'd post up a thread for the upcoming
day tour through the mountains.
It's still a long ways off but wanted to post a gentle reminder to
check the calendars and lube 'em up for a fun day of twisties.
Lynn and I will be in the B and Sprite.
Details to follow.
Post up if you are in.
Some of my other Cruiserless friends will join us.
Could be a good crowd. Crazy mix of rides.
Pit stops for the ladies to shop and guys to quench their thirsts.

i'd be down, and I have some other car guys who might wanna go too...

Hopefully I can make it the maiden voyage of the 40...

I still have this on the calendar... good fun!

Update

Well, we took the B out for a spin up to Hendersonville
via the twisties. GREAT drive. Ate in downtown.
Question: I think I've narrow the lunch spot down to 2.
Some of us know Haus Heidelberg as a fantastic German eatery.
We've been dining there for over 20 years.
Today we ate at an Irish Pub downtown. Wonderful place.
Owner even has a race car.
The Original Hannah Flanagan’s Pub and Eatery | Hendersonville, NC

Now here is how I see it.
German: great food will take reservation and parking is no problem.
Great beer but only beer and not in downtown with the cool shopping.
Irish : great food AND full service bar. Parking in downtown Hendersonville is
TOUGH. Shopping is downtown where the Pub is located. They will take reservations too.

What say yee?

I vote the Pub and get there early enough to scrounge up parking.
I defer to the group's wishes however.

For reservations we need a head count 2 weeks in advance or about 3 weeks from today.

Perhaps a cook out here at Point-o-View afterward.
Overnight primitive lodging at the Cabin available .
Plenty of space for tents as well.

I still plan on coming w/ the wife. I have a place to stay in Rocky Bottom. Should be close enough.

Photo op today

Went for a short ride today to try out Sprite's new goggles and seat harness.
Had to stop for some glamor shots.

Should work fine for me.

How about we meet at Aunt Sues's about 10:30 ish and head out
11 ish. Plenty of parking.
Arrive in Hendersonville at lunch time. Stage #1.

Aunt Sues it is.......... see you there!

wife shopping

be sure to stop in "The Next to New Shop" (mom's store) @ 101 church st, just don't let wives go in alone or in packs, they may never make it out

Anyone going to stay the night? I can, or just plan to ride on home?

Count me as 1 for the pub.

They just have to keep up. ;)

I like the confidence ;)

I'd lead, but no telling where I'd end up, and no one would be able to follow anyway :steer:

Gonna be a good day!

Too bad my carbs will not arrive in time. Twin HS4s on ported, polished, ceramic coated intake.
S/S heat shields and polished pots. Ceramic coating will color match the header. Custom needles and jets.
Velocity stacks inside the K&Ns.
Carb porn.
:grinpimp:

I'll be driving slow enough NOBODY should have to cut any corners.
Always in the lane. Just a fun CRUISE...not race.
That said. All should have a great safe time.

Nice pic!

No worries, I don't street race. I'm looking as forward to seeing your car and taking some pics at 0 mph as I am about the driving.

Now that's going a little far.

You are going to love these roads. Lots of spots for scenic photos. So quiet and peaceful.
Whaaaaaaa,,pop,pop,pop....Whaaaaa.....I love the sound of unburned gas exploding down
the pipes.

You are going to love my FisterD modified exhaust! You'll know I'm on the way well before you see me.

You fall in directly behind me. My and your exhaust notes should assure no one gets lost.

BTW: can't you get some big tires for the rear of that jalopy? ;)
