Spent most of the last week riding through the NF around Blue Ridge. Nothing more than dirt roads but it was nice to go somewhere besides I-65 for a change.

lots of this:

spent most of a day in the woods searching for this tree:

Why y'all got wood for that tree?

Excuse me for lurking but you know we have this tree in Bankhead

Slider time...

I will be fabbing myself (for at least the mounts)

Assuming the cost and effort is pretty much the same (rectangle tube would be a little bit cheaper but I would have to find it and go pick it up vs trail gear delivered directly to the door)

Should I go with a step replacement like this:

Bump-It Offroad Step Sliders installed

or Trail Gear 67" sliders like this:

Sliders - little different than everyone else

Currently leaning toward the flat steps.

having had a solid surface, and the open sliders; I greatly preferred the solid step. it stops more road debris, and the zero chance of a foot getting caught made me sleep better at night.

Steering was a little loose so I made the mistake of adjusting the steering box which led to a major leak. One thing led to another and...

Full steering system overhaul.

I bursted the banjo side of that crazy hose this past weekend. So I got one of them coming... What are the other hoses to the right and can I get them locally by the foot? Might as well do them while I'm elbow deep in there... Where'd you score them?

15" 5/8 & 28" of 3/8 transmission hose. I bought a kit from the 1fzphh site but should have just sourced it locally.

Boom. Thanks!
I bought the crazy metal banjo/rubber hose off Rock Auto. It should be here by Friday.

I saw you last Monday turning onto oxmoor right where that taco place is and where that cruiser always parks. I was in my new audi so I'm sure you didn't see me

Started to get some wobble on the highway when I hit a bump and noticed the steering was a little loose a few months back. Since I needed to replace birfs anyway I just replaced everything - birfs, bearings, TREs...but steering was still loose when I got it all back together. This was all that was left of the ironman poly bushings I put in a few years ago in the front panhard. Pressed in new OEM bushings and the steering is now tighter than any 80 I have ever driven.
