No I am not lazy.

It took me 18 months to find the right truck before i became a 80 owner and join the forum.

I got a one owner stock 1997 landcruiser with all options including lockers with 240,000 miles for 3,000 bucks in great shape.

The truck needs tires badly as two tires have a slow leak and the other 2 are close to bald.

Can I put 37" on the oem wheels?

If so, can I put 37" tires on the truck without a lift for on road driving before I put on a suspension kit?

If not can I put on a 1" or 2" or 3" 4crawler body lift and get the 37" tires?

YES

YES

However it is harder to find 37's (less choices than if you went with 17's)

I can buy at least 6 80's in 18 months, so YES, you are lazy. :flipoff2:

By any chance can you recommend a 37" tire for the oem rim, I can't seem to find any?

What do you want to use them for?

Someone claiming not to be lazy puts me on the defensive. I'm gonna say FAQ has all of this info and not link it out of pure spite.

Welcome to the addiction :flipoff2:

I want to drive this truck on road to start, I have never had a 4x4 before and don't know jack about tires.

I will put either a body kit or suspension kit on when I get the chance, but, as it is I will have to jump the battery and pump the tires to get it to the tire place as the truck has sat while I was away for the winter.

I want to go as big as I can for on road driving with no lift.

I would stay with 315/35's, just my 2 cents.
I would agree.

Look at the BFG AT KO2. They are good mix. Aggressive AT tire. But there are tons of good tread out there.

I have Wrangler DuraTracs and I have been very pleased with them. I'm running 285/75R16 which is just over 33".

I'm a little surprised nobody has brought up regearing at 37".

The OME 2" lift is kinda the standard starter lift. If you need a little more up front you can get a spacer.

Thank you for the input!

I will go with the 315 then, which are basically 35" tires right?

I like the look of the mud tires, but, don't want to much road noise.

Yes, we commonly call the 315 a 35", now keep in mind alot don't run true to size. Meaning even though we say 35" they depending on brand will measure say 34".

The BFG is a pretty good aggressive AT. I also like the looks of the DuraTrac. @SEABASS I think just posted up his new BFGs if you want to see pic of them.

retrofive, thank you

I just found the 315 bfg all-terrain t/a/ ko2 on tirerack.com and are going to have them sent to my local tire shop.

Do you know if I can mount them so the white lettering is hidden?

Sure, just ask'em to :)

I think you will like them. Good tire, good size.

Since you're lazy and I'm bored here Seabass's link
new tires for my one and only

Those are 33's on 15" wheels. You should be pretty happy.

Will do, just wanted to confirm it would not degrade performance.

I will throw up some pics when I get them installed.

Thanks again

315s stock height. Carrying a replacement front bumper and about 200lbs of equipment in the back

It took me a long time because I travel all the time. Also, I bought a second truck. Here is my 96 lx450 with 315 bfg at ko2 with a dobbins 4" lift.
