Alright...I'm a little confused. I'm trying to purchase manuals for a 1980 FJ40 manufactured in 3/80.
Looking through the FAQs, it seems like the Factory Service Manuals are the recommended ones to get. So I called Toyota Distribution and they listed four manuals (Engine, Chassis, Emissions, Service Specs) totalling about $100.
So what's the problem you ask?...apparently these four manuals cover any 1980. But things changed for 1980s manufactured starting in 8/80.
Has anyone purchased FSMs from Toyota for a pre 8/80 1980?
Just for a comparison, I looked on Spector Off-Road. To cover all my vehicle, I'd need to purchase about $300 worth of manuals. For instance, the 2F Engine manual covers everything but igniter & distributor...for that I need to buy the next year up in 2F Engine manual.
Before dropping a $100 bucks, I want to make sure I'm not getting half of the story.
Any suggestions?
